Started to pack...

Started to pack and realizedthat my carry on is a day or 2 of clothes, and the rest is food. Poptarts, oatmeal, snacks for in the park, Anyone else bring lots of stuff with them? Were first timers, and are trying to save a bit of money on food. Are we the only crazy ones?

you're not alone! We have the dinning plan, but we're bringing extra snacks, drinks and breakfast things, since we only have lunch, dinner and one snack a day! We're also staying in a value and tons of coffee so we are bringing our own coffee maker and coffee!!

I feel better that were not the only ones. We went to the local "goodwill" store and got a electric tea pot for like 2 bucks, so i can have my morning oatmeal, ramen noodles at night or at a break if we want, and of course coffee!! were staying at Pop Century so no coffee makers as well. We figure if we only have to take care of lunch and dinner and a special snack like one of those Mickey Pretzels, then there's more room in the budget for souvenirs!

You can ship the food - that is an option if you want more carry on space. :)

We drive so I tend to overpack. :D We don't bring as much food as we used to, but we still bring things like snack crackers, Pop-Tarts, and granola or protein bars. We also always bring a case of water and some juice boxes because I hate buying water in the park or even using a snack credit. Why get water when I could have had a Dole Whip?

Whenever we go to Disney, and we fly every time, I literally have a carry-on bag dedicated to snacks & our Bobbles (a water bottle with a built-in filter in the mouthpiece). Since there are 4 of us with paid seats, each one of us gets a carry-on, plus one personal bag....SOOO, having one of the carry-ons specifically for snacks is no problem. I do not pack the snacks in the boxes they came in; everything gets emptied out into 1 or 2 grocery bags and then shoved into a mini-Mickey duffle bag. Bonus, we use the "snack bag" as our souvenir bag for the return home.

In the other carry-ons: 1 diaper bag (with a change of clothes for our DD's), 1 children's activity bag (which oldest DD rolls around), and 1 camera bag (if I can, I'll fit it in with the snack bag). No matter what time of the year it is, I always pack a lightweight jacket or pullover for the plane ride; I can fit these items in the diaper bag.

My trip isn't for another 77 days, but mentally, I am already packing

We also drive and I think it makes bringing food and things like that a lot easier!

Thats how it is for us there's 3 of us, so we can have up to 3 carry ons and 3 personal bags, one carry on is a couple days of clothes and all the snacks since we decided not to ship after all, the rest of the stuff is going in the checked baggage, and on the way home we will put all the souvenirs in the carry ons, and everything else in the checked baggage :) 2 days!!!!!!!! Its getting soo close, Birthday party for DD tonight, then last minute packing tomorrow, and to the airport at 3:30 am!

All i drink is water, never have drank soda or any of that stuff, for me its water, and the occasional milk, so ive been looking for every way not to buy water in the park etc, We were going to drive but from home ( maine) its a straight 24 hour drive, i wanted more days at the world :) i managed to talk my wife and DD into flying, and they have never flown, ive flown, and have to on occasion for work so im used to it. This could be an interesting travel portion of the trip :)

@Mainahman - Have a great time and make sure to do a trip report.

@EpicMickey - I like your idea of the Brita pitcher for $9.97 through Amazon. We've been planning to order a case of water through WalMart.com which is about the same price delivered.

Only 16 more days for us!!

You are not crazy! Last year my 3 kids and I flew for a surprise trip (my husband was deployed and met us at Disney) to Florida and since we each could take a carry on I think I had 2 or 3 carry ons filled with snacks and other food that we would need, so pack as much food, snacks as you want. I did find out that taking snacks out of boxes and packing separately helped create more space for more snacks! :D

I have one suitcase packed with snaks and breakfasts items. We know that we're not bringing any of that stuff home so that means we have a whole suitcase to bring souvieniers home in. We also ordered a few cases of drinks from Garden Grocer
