New Restrooms

Tons of threads on this topic I know but I can't find any that cover this... if there is, let me know and I shall delete!

Why are they building the new restrooms? Isn't there a set of them right next to Peter Pan today? What's going in where those are now?

Peter Pan is going away and making way for Next Gen Queue. The new walkway & bathrooms are being put in to increase flow between Fantasyland and Liberty Square.

God I hope you mean the restrooms by Peter Pan and not Peter Pan... else I missed some BIG news. LOL!
And yeah, knew about the walkway. In fact last time we were there that was all I knew about (no restrooms or M&G news).

Also the bathrooms I believe have some increased capcity, which is needed because of the lack of bathrooms in that area of the park.

Isn't there still a set of restrooms just on the other side of Small world and the restaraunt?

There will also be a Companion Restroom with the new ones, adding to the limited quantity in the park now.

You are correct that there are restrooms there. However besides servicing the needs of visitors to Fantasyland, there is another reason for restrooms by the Fantasyland/Libert Square border. There were no flushing toilets in the late 1700’s, which is what Liberty Square is modeled after. Therefore, if you have to use the bathroom when you are in Liberty Square you aren't able to, because Disney kept with the them and there aren’t any there. You have to go either to Fantasyland (currently by Peter Pan) or over to Adventureland. Even the bathrooms in Liberty Tree Tavern are in the back of the restaurant, that is technically over in Adventureland. So the bathrooms (currently by Peter Pan) are there to obsetnsible handle the needs of the Liberty Square area in addition to providing use to the many people that flock to Fantasyland.

I believe the general concensus from our resident insiders is that there will be no M&G there, and judging by the space there really would't be room for it. Rapunzel will most likely M&G in the new Princess Fairytale Hall.

The nice bathrooms in the second floor of the Columbia Harbor House are also technically in Fantasyland for this reason. I think those might be the closest ones to the current Pan restrooms, at least until the nice new building is done.

Just bathrooms? It's Disney we're talking about...they do what they want

Presumably the restaurant will have it's own restrooms. These restroom are being built so they can remove the ones next to Peter Pan and free up that space for other uses, probably and expanded Peter Pan queue.
