Finding a Dr. Pepper....

Ok, Dr. Pepper is my favorite soda. I can drink Coke and Sprite in the World for a week perfectly fine. But on the drive home I get the first DR Pepper I've had in a week at the first stop we make (if available). So here's my question, is there anywhere in the World where I can find some Dr Pepper? Obviously they have a contract with Coca Cola, but I was just curious because on one of our next two vacations currently planned, it will be strictly on property startinf from when we get off Disney's Magical Express from the airport. Just curious, thanks :)

They have an exclusive Coca-Cola contract. You'll never be able to purchase a Dr. Pepper on property unless Coke buys Dr. Pepper from Cadbury-Schweppes or buys Cadbury-Schweppes outright.

hehehe Thats how I felt when I still drank soda! I was a daily Mt Dew drinker and REALLY missed not having it.

Now, we dont drink soda, but I remember getting my first Dew after a week without it! LOL

I feel your pain. The hubby converted me from Coke a while back.

When I go to the world (I usually drive to Fl from Tx), I stop by a walmart or a gas station and buy two 24 packs to last me through the week and if I have any left I take them back home with me. I also usually have a ice chest in the car with me full of sandwiches so I don't have to stop to get something to eat on the way to Fl.

Dr Pepper is bottled by either Coke or Pepsi in different markets depending on agreement. Here, in West and Central Florida, Pepsi bottles it. As a result, Coke sells Pibb Xtra (used to be Mr Pibb but it was reformulated a few years ago to have more caffeine in it) in these markets. In markets where Coke bottles Dr Pepper, they don't sell Pibb.

At best, you will only find Pibb Xtra on Disney property (such as at the Hess station.) I've seen it sold in the vending machines at the TTA over by the bathrooms near the ferry. Beyond that though,I don't know where else you can find it.

To get actual Dr Pepper you have to go totally off property.

Ta-Da. In 2010, Coca Cola signed a $715 Million 20-year contract to become a distributor of Dr. Pepper and Snapple products.

Reading that it seems they intended to continue distributing where they already were doing so and add Dr Pepper to the new "Freestyle" fountains. So I'm not sure that will help the OP unless they install the Freestyle fountains in the World. I haven't heard that they have or will...

Only four locations on Disney property with the Freestyles. :(
AMC 24's snack bar and at three Hess Marts.

As much as I would love a Mountain Dew at Disney I've never seen any Pepsi products anywhere on property.
And you won't so long as the Disney-Coke agreement is in place.

Dr Pepper is NOT Pepsi, but in the Tampa/Orlando area, it is bottled by Pepsi and therefore will not be available at Disney. Right on I-4 in Lakeland is the regional Pepsi bottling plant. When you hit the supermarket around here, Dr Pepper is included with the Pepsi sales and promotions and you can buy Pibb Xtra. In markets where it's Coke bottled, they don't bother making Pibb Xtra since it would be a "competing" product.

Hess stations on property do not carry Pepsi products.

They have Pibb Extra in the vending machines at the hotels. I also saw them in some vending machines outside the parks. I know for sure that the ones outside of Hollywood Studios has them. I believe the other three parks did also.
