Definitely gives me the feeling that they won't be ready to open FLE to the public until the later side of the broad "in time for the holidays" window. Still have my fingers crossed that we'll get to see some of it the week before Thanksgiving.

Thanks for posting this...at least all of the other holiday stuff got me totally psyched. Nothing like seeing parts of Osborne Lights in July! :D

This makes sense. It will be 2012. Oh well, I'm not going for the holidays anyway...yet :p
However, I am excited to see what they will do for 2013!
Have a good trip :D

You have to imagine that as soon as FLE opens Disney's publicity department will be shooting a million commercials and promotional spots there (just as they've done for months at Carsland)

They are not going to want those images "dated" with holiday decorations since they'll likely be used throughout the year.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

This makes a lot of sense.
For a second there I was bummed out thinking we were going to juuuuuust miss it.
Fingers crossed again that we will be able to experience this new FLE during our trip, Nov 9-17.

I think you are absolutely right.

They'll have the Christmas decorations next year, but this year they WILL want to shoot the FLE for their archives and for commercial purposes.

VERY astute observation!

Jennifer --

On another thread, one of several that talked about BOG, one young man said his friend was hired to work at BOG (I assume as a waiter or host); the thinking in that thread was that it seemed like BOG would be open before Thanksgiving.

It looks like you will either be one of the first to experience it or you will just miss the opening by a few days when you go...but since you will be there until the 17th you might have a very good chance of being there when it opens.

I hope luck is on your side!

Great video, thanks for sharing. I'm of the opinion that it will still open but just not have the holiday decor. At least I'm hoping so. We'll be there starting December 13 so even if I miss the opening it would still be fun to be one of the "first" to experience it.

I bet you will get to experience everything but the Mine Coaster if you are going the second week of December.
BOG and LM will be open for sure by then, I think.

It seems like the only "iffy" aspect of this is if things will be open before Thanksgiving, and how much "before" that would be. Like a week before, a day before, two weeks before, etc.? THAT part we don't seem to know yet.

I really hope you get to experience it all and that you would consider doing a photo write-up of what you saw. Those of us who won't get to be there again until next summer would appreciate it!

Somebody on this thread is providing some great customer service! What are my odds of the FLE being open the first week of Nov? I'd love to get the official word.

I don't think he was hired (not yet, anyway)... The internal posting for the FLE only began two weeks ago, and is still open. Interviews haven't even started yet.

However, I assume after all the interviews are done, Disney will really get the ball rolling with training CMs. I've also heard whispers that BOG and Mermaid are pretty near completion. My guess is that CMs will train in September/October, and then November will be the opening.

Take this as you wish, but during our recent visit (7/3 thru 7/23) our family was taking shelter from a rain storm in One Man's Dream. A very official looking CM (not dressed in standard attraction gear) approach my family. He began to discuss the FLE and walked us over to the large model now on display. He clearly indicated that the Mermaid ride was complete and was being operated on a daily basis. He also continued to state that BOG, Mermaid and the remaining Circus area would be open by late October. Finally, he was very clear to mention that the Mine Train would be ready for Summer 2013. At this point I pushed back to make sure he did not mean 2014. He assured us that this was the case.

Shortly after our talk, he was met by two other CMs dressed in business formal attire and all three exited the building.

I think since it will just be opening it should be in it's intended state. Why put decorations up on something that nobody has ever seen? Makes sense to wait. And I think it will be open in December.

None of these things seem unreasonable, but still take it with a grain of salt since even the most "official looking" CMs can give bad information. The officially announced 2014 date for the Mine Train might just be a "cover our buts" date in case they run into problems when they start testing the ride.
