Does anyone know if the contract for Harry Potter stops other Harry potter attractions being built everywhere in the world? And does anyone know when it ends?

i believe so, and it is nbc universal that owns it, which is why universal is putting harry potter in every universal park in the world. i am not sure when the contract ends.

It doesn't keep other HP tourist attractions from existing. There's one at the studios in England where the films were made. I'm sure the Universal parks have some sort of regional exclusivity though.

Based on a quick scan (which is alwasy dangerous) of the contract in the link posted here it appears that this contract gives Universal exclusive rites to Harry Potter only within a 250 mile radius of Islands of Adventure. The contract appears to just refer to IOA so I assume there is a seperate one for Universal Hollywood. There is also an exception for "traveling museum-quality exhibition" meaning that a Harry Potter exhibit could be displayed within the 250 mile radius.

The end date on that contract is 6/30/2019 with the option to extend for two more 5 year terms taking it up to 6/30/2029.

So from what i see it ends 2018 with an option to renew for another 5 years then another option to renew for another 5 years witch will bring them into 2028.

Your math was right, you were just off a year on the end date of the initial term of the project. The last payment is in 2018 but the term ends in 2019:

"(a) “Initial Term” means the period beginning on the date of complete signing of this Agreement through and including June 30, 2019. "
