Will Epcot close on X-mas day due to capacity?

Does this happen often? Has it happened in the recent past?

My fiance and I are going parasailing at Sammy Duval's at 1pm on Christmas day and we have dinner reservations at Bistro de Paris at 6:15pm. If we leave parasailing and get to Epcot at, say, 3pm, what are the chances of us being turned away, based on the past?

Thanks!

It is possible. I know several of the parks closed for capacity last year. Disney has differnt stages of closure for capacity as I understand. Limiting entrance to AP and Resort Guests at one point . Then just Resort guests ...etc.

Probably not. Of the four parks, Epcot will be the last park to go to any stage of phase closing (due to capacity). While Christmas day is very, very busy, the parks actually tend to be slightly less crowded on Christmas day than on the days before or after.

Thanks! Luckily, I'll be there as an AP holder and a resort guest, so hopefully my chances are pretty good.

Epcot needs a ridiculous mass of people mobbing the gates all day long to approach a phased closing. It is basically where Disney sends guests trying to get in to the other parks when they hit phased closings during busy seasons.

haha! Good to know. Hopefully everything will work out. I've been told to make back up reservations just in case, though I won't be able to do that for 10 more days (180 days from Christmas) with my fiance's email address.

I will say this...last year during new years week ..for the first time in a couple years, several disney parks were closed before noon...the crowd levels made national news ans it caught Disney off guard:

We were staying att eh Boardwalk during this time and was not turned away even though parks were closed

In theory Resort Guests are not supossed to be turned away..and if you have an ADR you should be allowed into epcot to fulfill that reservation
Not entirely correct. The ADR will be honored through phase three capacity. However, at Phase 4 no one is allowed in including ADRs. Very unlikely to have phase 4 at Epcot though. Still safest to get into the park early if you have an ADR.

As mentioned by a PP, an ADR will not guarantee you entrance. Being a resort guest will simply guarantee you park admission. They don't say which of the 4 parks. But as several other PPs have mentioned, the odds of Epcot hitting such a closure are pretty slim.
