Oh, those poor Ingalls girls...

The thing that I find strange about some people in this world is the amoral characteristics that mark their human existence. Having never served in the military or law enforcement, I have never had to take the life of another person. I can see it happening if I had served in either position, or if I were placed in a situation now involving self-defense. But to just take someone’s life through an act of murder, and then additionally treating their body as though it were meat that was purchased at a grocery store, is more than I can imagine. I am aware of the psychology behind control issues and cannibalistic behavior, and I know that we are all capable of unimaginable things, but really? As I stated before, it’s time to check the locks on my doors.

Right. Mental illness is spreading rapidly, and I'm not sure why. Is society doing it? Is it all the new mind altering drugs?

Whatever it is, it's scary to think these people walk among us and are perfectly normal, except for the fact that they think it's OK to kill...and even more OK to eat another human being.

Argh, this whole thread gives me the creeps.

What peeves me is when these people do horiffic inhumane crimes and then plead insanity. OF COURSE YOU ARE INSANE. Normal people don't eat other people! Being INSANE does not excuse your actions nor should it excuse you from being held accountable!! My opninion, of course.

Well, since this thread is 100% useless and there's no such thing as "off topic" here, I'll continue to discuss this until it gets closed :)

I agree with you. That's great that someone's insane, but they still killed someone, not only stealing their life, but burdening and hurting their loved ones.

"Sorry about your brain issues, but you killed my brother, and I want you to rot in hell for it. Hope your messed up head can handle that."

I'm afraid that I'm going to have to disagree with you on this point. We are here to garner sympathy and support for those poor Ingalls girls. Donations can be made out to the "Rsoxguy Will Handle Your Cash Fund".

Without scrolling back and re-reading.....did this thread actually mean something? Did something actually happen to an Ingalls girl? I thought it started with that random post, and then it spiraled into a cannibalism thread for no reason.

What did I actually miss?

The OP mentioned an episode of Little House On The Prairie in which they thought that Laura Ingalls had rabies. The thread began to spin out of control from there, through no fault of my own, of course.

:ROFLOL:

Ok, so the OP was indeed completely random. I thought for a second that one of them was recently eaten by a dog or person and that's what sparked the rest of the thread.

Ok, so, yeah....total derailment. Thank God this is in Chit Chat, so the "off topic" rule is less important....and even less important in this thread since the thread became off topic within a few posts

They certainly had their share of trials, didn't they?

I know that Laura isn't going to die from rabies, but they are all so sick with worry...

Ok "luv". This is day 5 of me wondering what the heck this whole random topic is about. PLEASE come back and explain so I can move on with my life. :dazzle:

Personally, I believe that this random topic is the tragic result of an afternoon spent cleaning the house with strong chemical detergents, but I'm no doctor.

What??!!
Mannix was a show in the 1970's about a private detective. He engaged himself in a fistfight almost every episode. Once or twice it wound up under water. When I was a kid I thought he was a cool guy. Come now, there are no other TV nerds out there in WDWMAGIC land?

how about Mcmillian and wife starring
Rock Hudson and Susan Saint James

My family never watched Mannix, it always ran against the NBC mystery movie...Columbo, McCloud, Mcmillan and Wife.

but he did have some really cool cars

just looking at the TV schedule for the year 1973....crazy.

All the best shows were loaded on Saturday, now your lucky to find a decent show on Saturday or Fridays...

Check out this CBS lineup for Saturday Night: All in the Family, MASH, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, Carol Curnett show...all classics

I am a total TV nerd but I think that may be about 2-3 years beyond me. I was born in 1973 so my parents waited until around '77 to start letting me watch TV indescriminitely. :lookaroun My earliest "grown up" TV was probably CHiPs and the original Charlies Angels. I bet if I watched an episode I would remember having seen it but not remember what it called.

What's most disturbing about this thread are the 675 views with about 5 of us posting...and the spike in visits to my user page. :lookaroun ("What type of sicko is posting in that thread?")

Is my memory faint, or did Columbo always get the wealthy murderers to confess based almost exclusively on circumstantial evidence? I seem to remember that he would figure out the crime based on miniscule observations, and then confront the rich killer and get him to confess.

Columbo: "You see, Mr. Worthinghton-Smyth, this piece of hair on the dresser couldn't possibly have been placed there before the murder occurred, because you were getting your toupee cleaned that week. It had to be placed there during the murder.
Mr. Worthington-Smyth: Dash it all, you annoying little pest of a commoner, I'm going to head off to prison, but I'll give you a cold stare and call it even."

Wouldn't a real-life Richy-Rich just hire a talented lawyer to refute the circumstantial evidence?

Also, didn't McMillan's wife seem rather attractive with her husky voice?

Yeah, 70's TV was great.
