I hope nothing. With all the new DVC members being added every month, DVC should be able to fund additional Member Services hors out of the additional revenue.
Member Services hours do not come out of revenue (unless someone is being very generous)
Operations of the resorts - cleaning, maintaining, front desk, member services, landscaping, points charts, website, annual statement, etc. all come out of our dues.
Revenues are used to pay for advertising, sales offices, sales personnel, construction of new buildings, etc.
Unless the powers that be have decided that using revenue monies to pay for extended hours is worth it dues to increased goodwill (i.e sales) you and I are paying for them in the form of a dues increase.
HOWEVER .....
It may all be a wash. Perhaps they figure with the new online tools, there will be less people calling in, so instead of having 20 people work 8-5, they split the shifts and have 10 working 8-5 and 10 working 10 - 7, then you just have the additional HVAC costs for the building (who knows, it may be leased space) and any shift differential that may be in the contract (if there is one)
I am hoping that the above is indeed the case. If it is, it is a very smart move indeed.
