I tried and tried to get reservations at TREX for Sept 29th, and they were all booked. I was a little surprised because I didn't think it was that popular. Then someone told me to call the restaurant directly. Little did I know they will take them over the phone. I got in Sept 29th, for my desired time of 6:15pm....Take that Disney Dining!

T-Rex and Rainforest only release about half of their available tables to the Disney reservation system. The rest are left for booking directly through the restaurant and walk ups, although walking up there can be just as problematic as any other Disney restaurant.

That is so good to know! I was not looking forward to eating at RF cafe, been there too many times to count, but never been to TREX...now I just don't know if I should keep my Hollywood and Vine reservations for the day we go to Hollywood Studios.

Is it worth it to keep those reservations to get in line early for Jedi training?

There is not a great deal of difference in the menus of T-Rex and Rainforest. Both are owned by the same company and they share quite a few dishes.

If you are going during Star Wars weekends I would take any advantage you can get. If you are there doing a normal time of year you will still want to get there shortly after park opening, but it is not quite as critical.

Always call t-Rex and RF direct if Dining says its full.

They both get a lot of flak on the boards, but I really like them. I don't love the noise, but the food is good. Kids like the noisy stuff, so I swallow it. :)
