Any word on Spectromagic?

I'm ready to call it. I don't work for Disney but I fear that it is just as gone as Horizons, Leauges under the Sea, World of Motion, Mr Toads Wild Ride, Skyway and any other long gone attraction I didn't list.

A watching pot never boils.. ;)

But really, you have been on these boards and seen how Disney works long enough. These things happen glacially. And given that Universal STILL hasn't announced an opening date for their new parade, Disney is not anxious to set a date for Spectro until they find that info out...

I looks like a big one to. Maybe that will force Disney World to step it up a notch and all Spectromagic units will return. Main Street Electrical Parade took a blow with cutbacks.

I'm absolutely sure Spectromagic will return, within the next year. The same time they remove the Sorcerer's Hat :) They even paid homage to Spectromagic in the new Disneyland Paris Dreams! Spectacular (ok I'm stretching things here), see http://www.tf1.fr/disneyland-20ans/ , in that they used one of the same songs from Aladdin, I think! (You may need to try access the video a few times, it is temperamental).

Just a thought...

But with Spectro gone for so long, is anyone else wondering, 'Maybe they are transforming it into a MARVEL parade?' to incorporate the characters into Disney Parks? This would not surprise me one bit!)

If they did retire Spectro, #1 any parade that replaces it would not be loved as much as Spectro, #2 Disney could have announced that it was being reitred, so you could watch it one last time, like they did with MSEP years ago!

Honestly, I believe they are waiting for a new generation of guests that don;t remember Spectro, so they can bring it back and a new generation of guests will fill in love with it all over again, like we did. One good sign that it may return is the sightings of the floats over property.

You ask this question literally once a week. If there's an announcement there will be a thread about it.

it's not just him, there are a few others that keep posting about it endlessly. and referencing some site that has it listed as "Returning Summer 2012" with no reliable source for it.

We saw the floats backstage a few weeks ago, covered in parachute material. We asked two people backstage and they said that there are no current plans (or announced plans) for it's return. I'm sure that most CMs don't have any idea when.

We were told that all the speculation for a return date, is just that.

Btw, I love Spectro, but I understand why they are keeping Disney's Electrical Parade. It really is a beautiful parade as well.

Also, all of the 'older' (veterans from 70's and 80's) people we spoke with while there recently, were so excited to see it back. One older lady said it reminded her of being a young woman, and had tears in her eyes. Also, for the visitors who get to WDW every couple years or less frequently, it could hang around a few years so these people could see it for the first time.
