A Disney Dancin' Trip Report

Well, I am finally getting around to writing up this trip report and it certainly takes some interesting turns starting at day 1. The preview and 1st day are done. I will update as each day is posted.

Preview:

I am almost starting to feel like myself again this week so it is time to thrill you all with my tale from my trip to Disney World during the first week of March. I’ll be honest, this was far from our best trip to Disney. Things seemed to go wrong more often than normal but a bad day at Disney still beats a good day here at work so I can’t complain too much I guess.

While we would have taken a Disney vacation this year anyway, we were going at this particular time because my daughter’s dance school had the opportunity to perform in Downtown Disney. The crew for this trip was me, my wife, and my 2 daughters but we were also traveling with friends this trip and we would stay together for the entire trip, so really we traveled as 1 big extended family with four parents, two 11-year olds, two 7-year olds, and two 5-year olds.

This trip was really a “facts of life” trip (you know….as in, you take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have..) with both good a bad moments, but the worst days of the trip were certainly the 1st and last days.

Here is the Report:

Preview (what you just read)

Day 1 - Trouble at Every Turn

My Wife's Letter to Disney

Day 2 - Disney Dancin'

Day 3 - A Good Day in Epcot

Day 4 - Kali River Rapids Ate My Socks

Day 5 - Test Track Down

Day 6 - Two Tickets In, 1 Ticket Out

Day 7 - A Parade of Lights.....or a Parade of Meats

Day 8 - Jedi Raining Academy

Day 9 - Almost A Great Day

Day 10 - Get Me Home!

Loving your report! So sorry about all the room issues at All Star. That's no way to start your vacation at the happiest place on earth!

So are you guys from the Philly area? I noticed the Phillies Shirt and hats! :animwink:

The title of your report captured my interest right away! When I was in High School (graduated '99) I DANCED at WDW a couple times! (MK and Epcot) I hadn't gone back since (about 13 years) and just went this past October '11for a friends' wedding on property and now I am a Born-Again Disney junkie! I have been enjoying reading trip reports on this site ever since I got back! (Cute title!) Thanks for posting, I am enjoying the report very much!

Loving your trip report so far! :) Except for all the hassle you guys went through the 1st two days....
That's awesome that your daughter got to dance in Disney. What a cool experience for her!
I have 1 question.... How did you guys get to go into a "VIP Lounge" above Test Track?!

My company is partially owned by GM and that is a perk that GM employees get. You go through a different entrance, get some free drinks and explore the lounge and then you get to head right to the front of the line and get on the next car. It is a nice perk and if I ever move jobs or something changes with the perk, I am not going to handle it well having been so spoiled.

Here is a link to a post I wrote about the lounge.

looks like you guys had a great time. Sad to hear about your issues at ASM, it really doesn´t sound like disney... but I hope the issues were just the ones you have shared.

BTW, I loved your tip layout!

Thanks. Unfortunately we still have one more big problem before the trip ends....but you will have to keep reading to find out.

That is what they call a tease.
