Nights of the week for MNSSHP?

So we are lucky enough this year to finally book for ten days from Sept. 17-26th. The problem I am having is, that I want to book our ADR's at MK for a night MNSSHP is held. Looking back at last years schedule, I see that all the dates in Sept. fell on either Tuesday or Friday evenings. Are these standard nights Disney has historically gone with for MNSSHP or are they subject to change to other nights of the week?

I'd say book a couple ADRS at MK for both those Tuesday and Friday nights....and then cancel one or both and have a plan B. In my experience, as soon as I think I've figured out the "system", they change it just by a day or so and totally change my plans.

Tuesdays and Fridays seem to be the days that it is held in September, but I suppose that it is always subject to change. I guess we won't know until the dates are released.

Are you planning on going to the party on the day(s) you are looking to book ADRs? If so, last year my fiancee and I had a big buffet breakfast at Boma (we were staying at AKL) in the morning of our party (could be a good morning for Chef Mickey's or 1900 PF). We then spent the day in MK, which was pretty empty. We checked in for the party at around 4, had an early dinner ADR at The Plaza at 4:30 and then headed over to where the dwarves were (by Splash, where Woody and Jessie meet durring the day). We were 7th or 8th on line for them at about 5:45. Since we had spent the whole day at a pretty empty MK, we weren't in a rush to do any more rides that day and the extra time resting up before the party was pretty helpful (we also got to talk to some really nice people).

When you have a ticket for MNSSHP, you don't actually have to have a regular ticket for that day though, unless you just want to be at MK before 7:00 (or whenever it starts)--is that right? I'm also trying to plan for September and figuring the party will be on a Tuesday or Friday. I always like to schedule an "off" day for our park hoppers so we can swim or shop, or just recuperate, but that seems like the perfect kind of day to go to the party at night. I don't need to schedule using a park hopper day for that day then at all if I have the event ticket, right?

I was having a similar issue with my ADRs (I'm going for 10 days a few days after you arrive). Looking at the MK park hours for September, the park closes at 7pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, so we are assuming those have to be the days for MNSSHP. As mentioned above, I guess these can change at any time but I feel pretty confident that those will be the days.

I never thought about checking closing times to see when MNSSHP is. Great tip. Now I just need to wait until they release the hours for October so I can start planning.

I certainly hope that happens soon! We're going 9/30-10/6 and I only have a few weeks left before I have to make all of our ADRs. I hate making decisions on short notice but I want to plan based loosely around EMHs

That is correct. You do not need park admission in order to get into a hard ticket event, you just need the hard ticket. Just to add, MK does start to let party-goers not using park tickets into the park at about 4:00.

historically they've let people in to mnsshp as early as 4pm without having a regular park ticket for the day. we only live 2.5 hours north of wdw so most of the time we just head down for the party rather than do a full park day and we've never had a problem.

That's fantastic! Do they give out wristbands or something to identify the event guests since you can get in that early?

Also, great idea about checking the time the MK closes. From what I saw for my dates, they're definitely sticking with Tuesdays and Fridays!

mk for regular park visitors has always closed at 7pm for regular park guests on nights of mnsshp as well as the christmas party in the winter. they do wrist bands for both and are pretty consistent about checking for them and herding out people without one.
