Can anyone give me information on the segway tour? My husband signed me up for it. Do they give you time to take pictures and time to rest since it is 2 hours?

I did a segway tour before in Savannah, GA and my feet hurt on the segway. Also I fell trying to get my feet comfortable so unless the tourguide held my segway I was afraid to move my feet to get off. It's ok you can laugh because it was so funny. The person I was with and I still laugh when we talk about it. She fell twice. HA! HA! Luckily neither of us were hurt. Ok we have a weird sense of humor.

The around the world tour I took I recall we watched a video first about the Segways, after which we then got trained on how to use them. Then we start making our way out to WS as it's not open to the guests yet. It's pretty much a guided factual tour of WS and going through little paths and such just so you can maneuver the segways. But, the part your mostly concerned is rest time...Yes you do..You get a pit stop for a few minutes for pictures out at Italy and ride around in the area as you finish off your circle tour you get back and get a fun little pin for doing the tour...Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the reply. That sounds about what the tour in Savannah was like. Looking forward to it and getting on the segway again. It was fun to ride after I got over being scared because of the fall. Hope that doesn't happen again, I won't have anyone to laugh with about it. It will be interesting to see WS empty.

We just did the tour in June (I wrote about it in my trip report - link in my signature - if you want to read about it).

Most of what Cmdr_Crimson said is what we experienced. You watch the video and get trained in Innoventions. A bathroom break comes next, and then you go to the World Showcase.

You some a few obstacles in the countries, and then stop to listen to facts about the countries from the CM. While the CM was talking, I would step off the Segway to sort of loosen up my feet. They turned us loose in Japan to ride around in circles and take pictures. It was tons of fun...the two hours flew by. You'll love it!

You said you'd step off to loosen up your feet. Did your feet hurt too on the segway?

I pretty much had the same experience that's been said. We trained for the first hour in Innoventions, and the second hour of the tour was around the WS. We weren't allowed to take any pictures until the break, and our guide was more than happy to take pics of DH & I together. I didn't have any discomfort while on the Segway. I'm super uncoordinated, so I was sure I'd hurt myself but I did good! It's a really fun tour, my only complaint is that I wish it hadn't ended so soon!

A friend of ours does a Segway tour in Celebration and he took us around on one of his tour routes. While riding the Segway was a lot of fun, it was kind of weird to stand that long with even weight on both feet. I hadn't thought about it before, but how often do we stand like that? Usually we shift back and forth so it wasn't really uncomfortable, it was just different. And it was longer than the Disney tour - I think we were out there for about 4 hours.

Thank you everyone for all the information. I did the segway tour on Dec. 26.
It was the one in World Showcase and wonderful. I was kind of scared since I fell on the segway tour I did in Savannah, Ga. Lamonte who was our instructor at DW was wonderful. He explained everything and then we practiced and he corrected us if we were doing something wrong. Then Chase took us on the tour and gave us information at each country we went through. In Italy he took pictures of us. I would recommend this tour to anyone who would be interested. I had so much fun and really learned a lot about the segway and riding it and felt very safe on it.
