Raglan vs Cookes?

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 restaurants Ragland Road and Cookes of Dublin???

It isn't quite the same. I had a discussion with a manager there about this, and he told me that in the case of the fish and chips, the fish inside is fresh, and battered with beer (Harp), outside the fish is frozen and the batter does not contain beer. The fish and chips is fantastic in both cases, but Raglan does edge it.

The food isn't even similar, much less identical, IMO. Read the menus and you'll see. Raglan is worth a visit, Cooke's is not, unless you're in a gosh aweful hurry.

Thanks for the info! That explains why I couldn't make a reservation at Cookes. I think I'll stick with Rose & Crown for fish and chips and try something new at RR.

They are both great places to eat. I grabbed something there 3 days ago and struck up a conversation with one of the CMs. She informed me that they two restaurants share the same ovens. This is why the entree pies often have limited availability. Ragalans has first dibs on the ovens and as a result Cookes often doesn't have the time needed to prepare them. Just a little Irish trivia for you!
