Rental Car Rates

I have been plugging away at my rental car needs in Orlando (Sept 10th -18th, Fullsize Car) for the last couple of weeks. Not every day but just on & off to see what I could do. Started off paying $245 thru my booking with SW Airlines as a package deal (flight and car) and since then have leaned about the online coupons available. Cancelled that SW package car reservation (kept the flight :ROFLOL:) and booked my own.

Currently I am booked with Alamo for a fullsize car the dates listed for $115 with all taxes etc included. I think this is a pretty good price but if any body can point to something better then I am all ears :ROFLOL:

I did not get the collision so that is some of the price difference. I will PM you the info I used. Heck I cancelled three times as I kept finding better rates :)

$115???? How on earth did you get that?? I've looked for us and it was nearer to $300 for a fullsize car for 9 days in September. And that's with my AMVETS discount too.

I joined the Alamo Insiders Club (free to join) and then followed all the instructions on the page I linked. I messed around trying different combos of codes and came out the best on this one :)

Good luck :)

I joined the Alamo Insiders too but I thought I read that you couldn't stack discounts like that. I am going to have to try it again. Getting a rental for that cheap would be awesome. I could get one that cheap with Dollar but, yikes , I don't think going with Dollar would be wise. :(

BigTxEars, wow. I was able to stack a couple of discounts and I got a rental for $237. It was $300. Not bad. Thanks!

Stack away :) I did and it worked.

Why is Dollar a bad way to go? I just ask because I have not heard anything bad about them and they were who I originally had thru SW airlines until I found the Alamo discounts.

Nice, keep messing with it, I did and I thought I had my deal at $133 for a midsize and then worked out the fullsize for $115. Just use the different offers and codes in combination and see what you can come up with. I think I ended up with the Alamo Insiders discount (10%?) and $40 off for a week code and then a $25 off code. Not sure how it happened really :ROFLOL:

This is a 20 year old grudge I guess from back when I was in the USAF. (AAA burned me too on a recent trip and I'm holding that one until I die) I rented a car with Dollar one time on a weekend pass with some of the others from the academy so we could go into San Antonio for a few days. Big mistake. I returned the car with not a scratch on it and a full tank. No issues right? Wrong. I got my credit card bill the next month and I had a huge charge on there where they billed me for "minor repairs". I called them and they said that there was a huge scratch down the side. BS. There was nothing wrong with the car.

Oh I understand grudges :ROFLOL: Have a few myself.

My 17yr old son just joined the USAF about 7 weeks ago. I was in the Marines (1987-1991, wow I am feeling old) myself and normally have that ever present inter armed forces rivalry :ROFLOL: but I could not be more proud of his choice :sohappy: He should leave for basic next summer after he graduates. To San Antonio no less like you all those years ago. :)
