Universal Ticket Bump

It's interesting that Disney announces their price increases on a Friday when it would receive fewer press, yet Universal announces their price increases on a Monday at the start of the news week. Perhaps they'll be announcing the Potter expansion to offset it? (If that is indeed what that "Pottermore" campaign is.)

"Some prices remained flat-- notably one-day, one-park tickets for Florida residents as well as annual passes..."

You didn't even read the article did you?

*Insert punchline drum fill*

Can't take a joke, can you?

Have you ever been to Universal?

Nah, I just live in Central Florida and spend every weekend at Disney World.
I was an annual passholder for two years. I've had my fill, thanks.

Not sure why you have a problem with Universal. I think it's fantastic. I also don't see why you have a problem with Universal raising ticket prices, but not with Disney. Furthermore, Florida Residents didn't get an increase by Universal. What are you complaining about?

Ok, wow. If we're going to do this, could you at least not put words in my mouth just to make yourself feel like you have a valid point?

Where did I say I have a problem with Universal? I made a joke, then I said I had my fill. That's not having a problem. When you're full after drinking a glass of water, do you have a problem with water? Didn't think so.

Where did I say I have a problem with them raising ticket prices?

Who mentioned Disney, other than you?

Where did I complain about a price increase?

Goodness gracious, how sad.

You said "three more reasons not to go" implying that there are a lot of reasons not to go to Universal. It was not exactly putting words in your mouth. It was inferring that you did not like Universal, which you have now pointed out that you simply have gotten tired of.

That discussion can be laid to rest now.

To be fair, there are quite a few reasons not to go to USF. Same as there are reasons not to go to WDW.

You know what they say about assuming.

Let's see....

In a thread entitled Universal Ticket Bump you replied "3 more reasons not to go." Can that somehow be construed as anything else than you NOT liking Universal?

I brought up Disney because they just had a price increase as well, but that doesn't seem to bother you.

After I'm full from a glass of water, I just don't drink anymore. I don't say "well, there's another reason to never drink it again."

Ever heard of a joke...? I realize sarcasm is not detected over the internet. But, you should also realize it's not your place to criticize me, even if it wasn't a joke. Seeing as how you're so concerned with what I'm posting. You would have realized I told SleepingMonk it was a joke, before you started adding your 2 cents.

I'm glad you know me so well, it's sweet that you admire me. But, that's not the point of this thread, nor a valid argument. Maybe it doesn't bother me. Maybe Universal's doesn't bother me either? Look, I'll say it, Universal's ticket price increase doesn't bother me. Where is your argument now? It's almost as if you feel that the more you type, the more someone will take you seriously. But that's obviously not the case.

Once again, where did I say that I would never go to Universal ever again?

Good for them :)

Agreed with this. I was glad to see their parks (especially IOA) killing it in last years attendance numbers. I want in March and saw how great of parks they have there. Hopefully they can continue to expand(a few more attractions in each park. I know of their space limitations) and be an even better offering in the future.

If I was a big universal fan and a Harry Potter fan than I wouldnt really have a problem with this increase. I know, I know, I flamed Disney for this exact thing. The difference is TWWOHP (even though I am not a Potter fan) and its planned 2nd stage, has a lot more appeal than the FLE. My wife, daughter and my niece are all chomping at the bit to go to Potter, not once have they said "man I cant wait till the new fantasyland opens."

So far, all of my friends have said that the harry potter world wasn't really as good as the expected, so I actually have a list of reasons why not to go... :lookaroun

Potter is a CURRENT thing, Fantasy Land is BOOMER thing, NOT a growth industry!
