I was in the MK today (Tuesday 1/18) and after the Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade, I was making my way into Adventureland and noticed that the construction gate to the new, temporary bridge was wide open. When I was close enough, I noticed that the strapping where the lock was mounted was completed un-nailed and the doors were swinging in the wind. I quickly took out my iPhone and snapped two pictures, before what appeared to be two off duty CM's, in street clothes, quickly closed the gates and stood guard. Here's what I captured

I felt kinda naughty when I took them, but there it was, right in front of me. If the cast members hadn't come along, I would've taken the pics, then found someone to take care of the problem.

Nice recon work! Hey - can you pass by the construction walls and see if there is any new artwork posted (like the photo of the inside of the mine train ride from another thread? I mean...you are there...and in your ninja clothes - might as well make the most of it! ;)

Is that going to be a real connecting bridge? Or is it some sort of above-ground utilidor or possibly a parade gate?

It's a temporary bridge they have to build to be used while the main Adventureland bridge is being worked on, just like when they build a temporary bridge on a highway.

With the Liberty Square bridge, they didn't have to build a temporary one, because they had the side bridge behind the Christmas shop, as well as the path down from the castle to provide access to/from the Hub end of Liberty Square.

But with Adventureland there's no alternate access from the Hub, apart from going all the way through Liberty Square and through the breezeway. So, they had to build this temporary bridge.

I wonder if they are going to flaten it out too while they are at it. I hope not, I just like it that way....but im sure they will.

Every time I see that mine car layout I am blown away at how big it looks! I know it's just concept art...but it looks just amazing.

So i wonder where Rafiki is going to end up being now since you go by his old hang out spot.

Actually, they've had Ariel (plus Eric in the summertime) meeting there regularly since June. She's gonna be (if she hasn't already) moved to that alcove on the opposite side of Aloha Isle, here:

If they're thinking about the big picture, I'm thinking they will keep the bridge as-is.

The bridge was (at least in-part) made like that to allow for clearance of the Swan Boats underneath. They still have to at least assume that they'll need to put a cleaning boat out there in the canal once in a while, and should keep all bridges at the same minimum clearance. (I think the new bridge to the Christmas Shop maintained the clearance underneath)

Also, the arch in the bridge, hides some of the surpries and details of what awaits you in Adventureland. Flattening it out might cause some story/themeing to creep out of there into the hub which would cause a bit of visual/mental story confusion. All this to say, I hope they don't flatten it.

Apologies if I should have been able to find this out on my own, but why the need for a temporary bridge? Is the existing bridge scheduled to be refurbished, or replaced?

I guess I phrased my question poorly.

Post #7 does indeed explain the reasons why a a temporary bridge is necessary for traffic flow, etc. but doesn't say what's happening to the original bridge. What's going on with the existing/original bridge is what I was trying to find out. :)

I too agree and hope they leave it with the arch as is. But didnt they flatten out the bridge to Frontierland, I know the arch wasnt as steep but one was there. I know they say they did it for the parade floats but with all the other ADA compliance issues im sure that bridge dosent meet that. I like the view over all the other people when you reach the crest of the bridge plus like sade above, it seperates the lands.
