I live about 30mins away from Disney and go about every weekend. I love all the dining options they have at WDW and I want to get the Tables In Wonderland but I don't know if its worth getting or not.

I heard they have events that they throw each year.

How often are they?
Do they sell out quickly?
Are the events nice?

I wouldn't necessarily buy TiW just for the events. From everything I have seen, they are kind of sporadic. Maybe 6 or so a year. There may very well be more as I don't get the emails, but I don't recall ever seeing more than that reported. They are kinda pricey, a few hundred a person. The most common one I read about is the GMR dinner. They put tables in some of the scenes of the ride, and you walk through it from course to course. Food was reported as eh, with kinda rough service. But earlier reports said it was an awesome event. So not sure if the most recent one was meh, or they are following the trend of the parties, charging more for less.

TiW can easily be worth it for the dining discounts. The break even point varies depending on the person. I personally usually tip around 15%, so the mandatory 18% is a little more than my norm. So I view the 20% discount only as a 17% discount. With that mindset, it takes about $441 of food to break even. If you normally tip 18%, then you would be breaking even around $375. (These numbers are assuming the AP price of $75, FL Res would be higher) Figure $20 per person per TS meal, you hit that $441 in 22 meals. If you have more expensive meals, or buffets, you hit that target much faster. Our party of 4 plus infant broke even in 4 meals I believe. Boma, Chef Mickeys, Le Cellier, and then 2 2 person meals at Brown Derby and Jiko. So the 3 other trips that the card was good for were just pure gold. (Even more so since 2 trips the resort we stayed at accepted it for the CS for breakfast!)

If you do go to WDW each weekend, pull out your receipts from the last few trips. See how many of the places you ate at take TiW, and do the math. See how fast you would break even.

It is worth it if you are spending at least $375 per year at TS restaurants at WDW. Anything on top of that is gravy. The events are nice but do fall on the pricey side. I might be missing a few but there does not seem to be an abundance of them...maybe one or two per quarter.

Sweet thanks! We do spend more than $375 a year on dining. We put more money in Disney then we do anywhere else. Lol. I'm going to buy it then this weekend. Thanks you guys. =D

Make sure that you show them your AP as an AP TiWL card is $25 less than the Fl resident one. One other perk you get with the TiWL is free valet parking at the resorts but you must provide a dining receipt to get it.

Thanks for the reminder on the valet. Need to use that more. We've been members for years (back when it was some other name I can't remember). Totally worth it for us. I like that they started adding the tip in. I'm sure some servers were getting screwed. Being in the service industry for the night job, I have a appreciation for that.
