Getting Food To Resort

I am trying to figure out the best way to get all of my son's "gear" to AKL..I know about the shipping and I know about the grocery store that will deliver, but...He will be 8 months old which means, at least 20 jars of food, two things of puffs, 70 diapers, one container of formula..not including the throw aways of spoons, bibs and table covers..I was gonna do the USPS it fits is ships, but with everything I will need it will cost at $25 (two boxes) to get there..The grocery store there that will deliver doesn't have half the food we need and they are charging more than DOUBLE for the stuff they do have..An extra suitcase will cost us $32 each way (he is a lap rider and doesn't get a suitcase on the plane)..which I would mind so we had something to bring souveniers home in..except we ALWAYS buy a snowglobe and we can't carry it on, and do I really want it in baggage claim? So any other suggestions or other grocery stores you know of ? The one I have is Gooding's..I understand that they have niche and can charge what they want, but they are charging me for 34 diapers what I pay for 130 here...Thanks

I would either take a cab and then head to the nearest WalMart...or USPS...which for $25 is not that bad and is probably cheaper then paying for a cab to and from the resort!

There are other grocers that deliver, I've seen people talk about them on the forums. The two that come to mind are garden grocers and we go shop? Might want to google it because I'm sure there are others you could do a price comparison with....The resorts do have a very limited supply of baby food, nothing you would want to depend on. You could always get a taxi to take you to the store. It just depends on what is more important to you in your trip, taking time out to shop or having everything deliver...for a cost.. Good Luck! We always loved taking our babies to Disney! Even at that young age they really do get a lot out of it! Hope you have fun!

Check Garden Grocer and WeGoShop. Garden Grocer has a set listing higher prices. WeGoShop is basically a personal shopper, and will shop at whatever store you want, and charges you what the receipt says, plus their service/handling fee.

Or possibly look into ordering the baby stuff from Amazon? I can see that some of their baby food offers free shipping. The same for diapers and formula. I don't know if they have the exact brands you want, but it is an option. Use the free shipping to send it to the resort, and pick it up when you get there. Or pay for their shipping to get a firmer delivery date. Or if you have Amazon Prime you may be able to get it there next day. Even if the resort charges you a fee to hold the package (some do) it would still probably be alot cheaper than self shipping or shopping fees.

Honestly, I doubt you'll get it much cheaper than $25. Plus this way ensures you get exactly everything you want. Or you could pack a couple of outfits less and do laundry once...$2 to wash $2 to dry pack your own detergent in premeasured ziploc bags...but then you have to count the time to haul the clothes to and from the laundry area and depending on where you stay may or may not be close...I'd just go with USPS and spend the $25.

If you plan on bringing back souvenirs I would go for the extra bag at $32. Baring that you are not going to beat the $25 from the USPS. A cab ride to Wal Mart will cost you that if not more.

That's what I told my husband, but the big thing we bring back is a snow globe..we used to carry it on and we can't now..Do i really want to put it in baggage?? I know that Disney will ship it home and he suggested we just ship everything home, but i don't think they can combine all of our stuff..I thought they would just ship from each store..any info?

The will ship it but there is a charge to do so. It will not take long to get $32 worth of shipping.

My family used We Go Shop for our trip in June. They did a fabulous job. We had an infant traveling as well and they did a great job getting the exact baby food and diapers and the many other snack items the family needed.

They set the list up early and we called when we landed and they met us at the resort. Carried everything up.

i would recommend them.
