Just returned from a short trip to Epcot and I noticed there is a "tower" with windows being built above the new cantina in front of Mexico. Could this be a new control room for Illuminations?

No. Definitely not. But it will be an electrical room for lighting, illuminations lighting, audio and HVAC controls. It will be just used for the Cantina only

Hey MythBuster, I know its a different topic, but do you know if they are going to be shutting down TSMM at all in the coming weeks to put in the new Rex game or is it 3rd shift? Im going down to the world May 8th to the 15th and hoping I'll be able to ride.

Even though it has a utility-centered use, I still like to hear that the area is being altered in a fairly significant way. The larger the construction in that area, the more likely it will be fully realized as its rendering. Which is cool, because it's a pretty awesome spot to drink/eat already.
