Tables in wonderland question

My brother offered us his tables in wonderland card to us as we leave for the world in 3 days. It expires in a couple weeks so he is not going to need it. My question is...I know that his name is on it, but if we pay cash do u think the server would ask to see an ID??

No
The card is non-transferable. That said, I was never asked for ID, but also never paid cash.

Is being publicly embarrassed trying to pull a fast one worth it?

This is kind of bad but i would advise paying by cash and borrowing one of his cards without a picture on so its at least got his name on it. :lookaroun It will be good enough for them. :o

I wasn't asked once during our 10 day stay last Nov to show my id when using our TIW card. I thought it was strange and even asked if they needed my id and was always told no.

Were you charging to your room or a credit card? :lookaroun

They only need to ask if you're paying cash, which very few people do.

Almost all of our meals were paid with cash. That is why I asked them if they needed to see my id and they always said no.

Hardly! Im not saying pay with his card, just show the name on the card. What harm is that doing to anyone?

You will find on this board, a lot of jealousy and anger from some who do not want you to have some kind of advantage when it comes to dining. This echoes what is going on in US politics right now. Anyways, sounds like a lot of disney employees are on this site as well, as they continuously defend the actions of disney and the "business" reasons for doing x, y and z.

Having said all that, which you may have already known, if you can find a way to use the card to your advantage, I say go for it. More power to you. But then again I'm a capitalist.

It is not about jealousy. It is about following the rules. The card clearly states it is not transferable. Using another person's card is wrong and possibly illegal--I'm not a lawyer so I don't want to argue those specifics.

I am all for everyone getting every advantage they can. I believe if someone is willing to take the time to search for information and ask questions they should get the advantage over those not willing to do their homework. I constantly provide people on these boards with tips and recommendations to give them every opportunity to have a great experience--with-in the framework of the rules.

I don't want to be the guy that chastises people, but I also do not want to idly stand by as someone else bashes people that are of the opinion you should follow the rules. It is ridiculous to insinuate that those who express the desire for everyone to follow the rules are un-American.

It is also ridiculous to take the moral high ground when you are encouraging someone to cheat, justifying your stance with the argument that it is Disney, and because they are a huge corporation they don't deserve to have the respect to have guests obey the rules.

In reality actions like the ones the OP suggested only hurt the other guests, not Disney, diminishing the experience for everyone. Other guests will eventually have to make up the difference when discounts are abused or such programs will be discontinued for everyone.

Finally capitalism is not about gaming the system. It is about having a fair and open market that rewards hard-work and ingenuity.

Having said that I think the world would be a better place if everyone valued integrity more than trying to use everything to their advantage, I say go for that. I hope everyone makes the right decision. But then again I'm a Soldier.:)

I wanted to say to the original poster, my last comment was not directed at you. You asked a valid question about the process, and if you look back I shared my experiences without judgement.

I did not feel the need to express that it is wrong to use the card. Had you asked if it was wrong I might have chimed in, but you didn't, you asked would they check.

But I could not stay silent while someone bashed other posters for expressing the simple opinion that it is best to follow the rules. Especially when it is tied to a political point and wrapped in an us versus them argument.

So whatever you decide, I hope you have a great vacation, and if you need any more advice please posts your questions, because I have found the people on this board to be an unbelievable source of great information.

First off, and most importantly, thank you for your service...you put your life on the line so that I and others can have such opinions...

Second, my comment was not in any way intending to insinuate that anyone was "un-American"; my comment was simply conveying my impressions based on many, many other comments posted on the boards and threads..not just this one...and it was only my impression and opinion, not fact. Folks need to relax about the "rules" a little bit. The bar swings both ways with disney taking advantage of you in some circumstances and us taking advantage of Disney in others....if the card is going to expire then use it, no big deal....i could think of a million situations where this would be fair, but not enough room here to provide.

Third, I definitely don't want to start a political discussion here as it is not the place for it, and probably was in error in making such comments that had any political tone in them. My bad on that.

Actually there are not a million but simply one. They are dining with the individual who purchased the card on the same guest check.
