Discount pin codes

I'm kind of a rookie but could someone explain how often you need to go or what you need to spend previously to get any kind of pin sent to you? I see booking 1 year in advance when you are there you seem to get a discount. Last time I went was Sept 08, I already booked for Sept this year at CS but don't expect anything. Just wondering. Thanks.

I don't often give this information out so listen carefully.

Unfortunately there is not trick to getting PIN codes as they are completely random. All you can do is let Disney know who you are by doing such things as requesting planning DVD's, registering on the official site, etc.

My impression is it's entirely random. I go fairly frequently. Last year I got three different PINs emailed to me [used one ]. This year I got none [would likely have used three].

Thank you both. I was not going to ask knowing I might be grilled but had too. Thanks.
The majority here won't grill you for asking a question. Ignore the few that do... They're probably just pathetic, bored and lonely. :lookaroun

I also have a somewhat rookie question and figured i might as well ask here instead of making a whole new posty. We've gone in september the last couple years and are hoping to go again this year, but were kinda waiting to see what discounts were offered for the fall. However they seem to be taking their good ole time to announce anything and im afraid to wait to long to book anything as flights keep going up in price. My question would be....if i did book before they announce a discount, would i still be eligible to recieve that discount? If its free dining of some sort will i be able to add that after if i don't select any dining option when i book. Or what if its just a percentage off a room? is that addable(or subtractable) to what i already booked?...I don't know so info would be super. gracias.

Booking secures a room and confirms you're going. If free dining or some other offer comes along before you've paid in full, you can call and add it if you booked a package or change your reservation to get it if you booked room only.

The potential negatives to this are that if enough people have made bookings, Disney may decide they don't need to offer deals to fill the resorts after all. It's kind of a two-edged sword.

Ideally, you should book what you can afford when you can afford it regardless of discounts. Then if there aren't any, you're not stretched to thin or disappointed. If they do make an offer it's a bonus! :D

thanks for the info. If we go our trip will be cheap regardless. I already priced out a value resort package for just over 1000 without any dining. So adding sit down to that puts it up to almost 1500...so getting that for free is a third of the cost..kinda of a big difference so that just why im wondering. Im sure i'll wait a lil longer and see what happens before i decide anything.
