Help me plan my solo trip

October. Two weeks. Solo.
I'll be 18 when I go so I think i'll be old enough to check in on my own etc. So I need help with a few things.
Where to stay?
When I go with my family I used to stay off-site due to the fact it was cheaper and we had more money to spend on souveniers etc. So if I go on my own i'm not sure whether to stay at a Disney hotel and spend the extra or save money and go with the off-site hotel.

Which parks to go on which days?
Unlike most people here I will be going to Universal, IOA, Sea World & Aquatica. The tickets i'll be getting is the 14 day disney and the 14 day flex-ticket (I think thats what it's called)

Where to eat?
The only disney restaurant i've ate at is Chef Mickeys. Well, i've ate at other places but thats quick service, I want to try some table service restaurants.

Also, if theres anything else you think I should include into my trip etc etc.

Oh yeah, it's october so i'll be doing MNSSHP again, so no need to include that :)

Thanks

I have gone solo and am planning to go solo again this December!
Stay on site - try a moderate resort, I like POR-Riverside or French Quarter - bus service is good and your never too far from bus or main building.
Eat at Biergarten in Germany and Japan sushi bar(they have cooked food also) and the Smorgesbord in Norway/Sweden. I also like Citricos in GF, California Grill in CR, Yachtsman's steakhouse in YC and Whispering Canyon Cafe in WL. Do a character breakfast buffet, those are always entertaining.
Most importantly, have a great time :sohappy:

Wow two weeks that is a long time by yourself, I am so jealous. As far as Hotels go it will depend on your budget. I would either go Pop or French Quarters.

As far as food goes Biergarten is definitely a great place to go by yourself, because you will be seated with either people and can strike up a conversation. I would also try Crystal Palace for Breakfast and Ohanas for dinner.

I only go solo. I'm too selfish to travel with other people because I don't like to compromise. :)

However, I think 14 days at Disney is way too long. Usually I'm done by the fifth day and ready to move on. Solo travelers can get through the parks MUCH quicker than guests with friends/family. However, I only stay at the Values. There is no earthly reason I need to stay at any higher level resort when it is just me since most of the ameneities would be wasted on me.

I guess the New Yorker in me doesn't understand this. I personally don't like speaking to people I don't know. I prefer to use meal times to read or just relax in general. That said, it probably doesn't matter where you eat. Striking up a conversation with a CM is probably more entertaining and informative (and maybe even beneficial) than striking up a conversation with the Bufords from Texas.

Yeah, that would be Hilda and George Buford. They own a little place just south of Waco. Do mostly cattle ranching, a little farming.
Rather quiet folks. Travel a lot, plenty of money from the pumping jacks on their spread. Usually stay at the Polynesian because Hilda says it reminds her of Hawaii. Lovely woman Hilda.

If you see them again at WDW it might be worth talking to them. They can be down right entertaining if you ask the right questions.

When I usually go to Orlando with the family I always go in between 2-3 weeks and it's just awesome, but we don't just go to disney we go to the other parks and we go to the malls and do some retail therapy.

So anyway, to the hotel i'll either be staying off-site and save some money or staying in the pop.

Crystal Palace and Ohanas sound good so i'll give them a thought.

Thanks for the help so far guys

When I did a solo WDW trip in 2006, I stayed at POP. In recent years, I started using a rental car, but back then I used WDW transportation only. The value resorts really aren't more expensive than most offsite properties (except for really budget ones...not a great option, IMO). For the two weeks you're doing the rest of Orlando, I'd go on Priceline.com and bid on a 2.5-3 star hotel. I've done this several times, and gotten 3 star resorts for $59 a night (most recently, the Doubletree in DTD, previously, the Radisson Celebration, and Sheraton Safari). You can specify which area you want to stay in (ie closer to Universal/Sea World).

If you stay at POP (or another Value) while in WDW, you'll get all the perks of staying on property but with a rental car, the flexibility of not being tied down to WDW property.

Also, I had one table service meal when I traveled solo, and that was at Tony's in MK. The food is just OK, but the CMs really went out of their way to make it a magical solo dining experience.

I took advantage of the solo trip to do all the things my family never wants to do. Although the party poopers in the crowd always tell me to go ahead and ride whatever I want, sometimes I feel badly and just skip things. So on that trip, I did the teacups, Swiss Family Treehouse, and AstroOrbitor, among other things. It made for a really unique and fun trip :)

First and for most have a great time!!!! I have been on two solo trips and I am beginning to plan for my 3rd. I usally stay at the Wilderness Lodge, yes it is a deluxe but it all depends on your budget. From the WL the transportation is great with little or no wait. For table service I like the prime time cafe or the sci-fi cafe both at Hollywood studios. If you like dinner shows then I would recommend the Hoop-de-doo Review at the campgrounds. I have read the other posts and everyone has some great ideas. Again have a great time.

Find the nearest couple of hot babes and tell them that you are from England and that you are by yourself and you aren't sure of what to do at WDW.
Let them take it from there.

Your dollars will definitely stretch further staying offsite. We got l0 nights for $350 reserved for January! As far as parks, we always go to the park that doesn't have the EMHs. We believe in being in line at opening and staying til closing! If we need a break there's plenty of benches or table service choices for that. If you have a rental car you can travel offsite, for snacks and pop and dining. Best of luck on your solo trip!!
