CM discount question

Okay, so does anyone or any CM's out there know this...can someone who knows someone who knows someone who works at WDW get discounted park passes?

I know, it sounds like a stupid question and I only ask because I have a really annoying sister-in-law. You know, the kind you try not to speak to any more often then necessary. Well, anyway, she has some severe resentment towards us for going to WDW as often as we do since she has never been there. She told me the other day that they may be going this summer because she knows someone who knows someone who works there and is going to get them really discounted tickets....Now I know CM's can get people in for free (limited), but I've never heard of "discounted" tickets for friends of friends. Anyone know if this may be true or if I can safely assume my sister-in-law is just trying to make a feble attempt at trying to somehow make me jealous???? :hammer:

Yes cast members can, but from what I remember it was a VERY small discount. I think I signed a form saying Im not allowed to say the price, but I remember it not being worth the trouble really. I dont think it would be a deciding factor in booking a trip...

Thanks guys, I figured it probably wouldn't have been very big or I would've heard about it by now! With so many cm's employed there, everyone knows someone who knows someone at least who works there, and if they all got in for next to nothing like my sister-in-law made it sound, everyone would try to use it!

I've used undercovertourist.com and I love the discounts they give! The last time I used it, we got 2 free days making our 4 day pass a 6 day pass and that was even cheaper than the regular priced 4 day pass through Disney.

:sohappy: WOO HOO for discounts!

The discount isn't even a percentage but more of a dollar discount. Almost an identical discount can be purchased through http://www.undercovertourist.com/ without the need of knowing a CM.

I've always wondered....how legit are these sites like UT and the rest of the "Discount Ticket" sites?

Obviously they're not selling illegal tickets, or they wouldn't all be around anymore. Do they actually have some sort of broker agreement with Disney to sell these things at discounts?

Or, do these companies just have huge bankrolls, and just order up hundreds of these tickets ahead of time and re-sell them? Even then, they couldn't make money because Disney doesn't sell them at a discount if you buy 100 at a time (well, not to us regulars anyway).

Anyone have any insight on these places? Not just "yeah, they're legit" but more like, "here's how they do it". I've always steered clear because my history of luck would ensure that whatever discount ticket I ended up with would have missing days, or get me thrown in jail.

I don't really have any insight for you as to how they do it, but I do know undercovertourist is GREAT! I've used them several times in the past and never had a problem. My tickets even always arrive way earlier then I was told to expect them. I think they explain on their site how they are able to sell the tickets discounted if you want to check it out and see. I seem to recall in the past reading about the process, but now i can't remember. All I know is that it was all good and it works great!
