Camera Battery Recharge!

When I was at WDW last in 1999, I know they had the camera shops around the park that would recharge your camera or camcorder batteries...can anyone confirm that they still offer this and where they are in each park? Do I need to take my own charger/plate and drop it off when I need a recharge?

Thanks!

I don't think they do this any more. My recommendation is get a second battery and charger. This way one is always charged and ready to go the next day. Personally, I have two chargers and 3 batteries. This is far more than enough power for 24 hours. All three batteries can be charged over night. It is very inexpensive for batteries nowadays.

I believe that went the way of the dinosaur. What I have done is very nicely asked guest services if they could plug in my charger and charge my camera battery and I have never been told no. It is however much easier to bring your own charger and charge it in your room.

I have not personally done this, but I have read some recent posts here where guests did have them charged at the camera shops in each park. They have an assortment of chargers (but not guarantees they have yours). I would just play it safe and take enough power of your own.

I have charge mine at the camera shop in Epcot. I actually charge the battery overnight but for some reason it really never charged and it was plugged it.

Some have said yes, and some have said no. Does anyone know for certain? This would be a handy service to have available if one were to forget to charge at the hotel.

It may take a long time to recharge the batteries even if they will do it in the parks.
Better to take your own charger and carry a backup battery (batteries) with you.

Recharge at night in the room.

In case of an emergency problem and you use AA's you could always buy some non-chargeable ones in the park. That would be a last resort, though, as WDW charges (no pun) a lot for batteries.

You can find outlets in the counter service restaurants, I've charged many different things in them while eating.

Better safe than sorry...bring your own charger. I'm bringing a second battery for my camera as well as a charger on my next trip. Unless your camera is ancient you should be able to find a battery and charger pretty easily.
