So whats going on with the electrical parade in WDW

So what's the deal with the Electrical parade, how long will it be in WDW, and wheres Spectro Magic going. I know they did the same thing in 2000. Dont get me wrong but I think I will miss the Spectro Magic parade a whole lot, I will miss the music more than anything and Jiminy Cricket being the host. I love that warm atmosphere that music and the host together filled the parade route up with. I guess they need to change it and if they must change it I rather see another familiar classic like the Electrical Parade. It originated in WDW right? I am concerned about the new audio, it is making me a wreck. I hope it isn't tacky and heartless like all that new crap on Epcot. And one simple request please... let Jiminy Cricket be the host. I dont like that ladies voice.

That Main Street Electrical Paraded will be back for the "Summer". Hard dates have not been released yet but speculation is that it will run from mid June through August.

Spectro will be getting a refurb during this time.

Yepp that pretty much is the condensed version! :lol: There have been some reports that this will be a VERY good thing for spectro as it will be getting some issues taken care of. One poster even stated that some of the floats have termite issues. There has also been talk that the parade will receive a much needed facelift during it's refurb, possibly getting LEDS. :wave:

I think the crowd issues at DCA's World of Color show will determine how long it's away from that park. The new audio has nothing drastic at all. The parade started in 1972 in DL, although the floats were different. Started in WDW in 1977.

I hope it comes back before my 2011 trip. I thought they got led's but I guess the parade just got dimmer. I would think they would trade for a bit but the sooner spectro comes back the better. Spectros my favorite. I know california has gone paradeless before the electrical parade came back. I guess Spectro doesn't like to travel and WDW is more priority. I know in spring 2001 spectro magic came back the following day after they discontinued the eletrical parade.

Just looked at the calendar and it says Spectro is running in july but no nigh time parade is listed in august.

I have a feeling they wont have any parade until Spectro is back because it is not on the calendar. I love the Electrical Parade but I would miss the host, the feel and the music score greatly. I remember seeing it in 2001. I was surprised to see Spectro back so soon.

Well heres a video of the revamped parade and that music score. I an still deciding whether I like the music or not, the clapping is so annoying LOL and I am afraid of what the Spectro Magic music would sound like when it comes back. I guess the name and theme really make no reason to change the music.
