Pointing is not allowed

A cast member can point with an open hand or with 2 fingers. Using one finger to point is supposedly not allowed as it is impolite in some cultures. Something like that.

Yeah
I heard something like that before

and waving with your left hand it's supposedly an insult, in some contries.
not sure where but I think it's in the middle east or africa. not sure where.

I heard in the middle east thumbs up is bad too.

there a lot of different gestures what are meaningless for us but in other cultures are insults or other significan't things.

I've heard of that too. My PE teacher in elementary school was a disney cast memeber. I still don't know the real reason they use their open hand or two fingers to point.:veryconfu

None! I didn't have the urge to use it once!

Once I got on the turnpike heading home, however...

I found this out a while ago, and started to point with 2 fingers whenever I remembered so I wouldn't have to break a habit when I go to the WDWCP. Everybody always asks why I point with 2 fingers, I tell them habit :D

I've been using the "Disney Point" at work so much, I have begun doing outside of work!

BTW, I've always wondered what cultures consider pointing by one finger impolite?

point and click

It is also known as the "double barrel gun point." It's considered impolite to the person being pointed at. Of course, if you're pointing at a thing (building), as is usually the case, the building's feelings probably won't be insulted. Same goes for the animals.

<snip>

It's impolite because in lots of African countries and cultures, the left hand was (in some cases still is) used directly to wipe one's backside after "visiting" the toilet - no paper. The offending hand was then simply washed with water :hurl: :hurl:

That was said about the Moroccans, but of course, I never wanted to confirm it! :hurl: :lol:
