Old Key West Vs. Saratoga Springs!!!

SSR or OKW

Kinda hard to say. It would, of course, depend on your preference, but I like them both. OKW is the oldest of the DVC resorts which also means that it is larger than most other DVC rooms.

SSR is newer, but the studios are smaller. OKW feels like a more intimate property because it is only 1-2 stories, whereas SSR is several stories tall.

Both have decent transportation, and you won't have to wait in huge lines like for the value or moderate properties.

Hope this helps. :-)

I've stayed at both, and I honestly prefer Saratoga Springs. The two are very comparable, but Saratoga felt nicer and more elegant. Another big issue or my family is that the buildings in Saratoga feature elevators, and the buildings in Old Key West do not; meaning when we stay on an upper floor at Key West, we have to drag all of our suitcases up the stairs. Saratoga also feels much more centrally located, with Downtown Disney and the Port Orleans resorts just a boatride away.

Just my opinion. :)

I can only tell you about OKW. I really liked the resort. I don't like how it is all spread out because of the bus situation but I really enjoyed the resort anyway. The rooms are much bigger and the resort is extremely quiet.

The biggest benifit of SSR is the short walk to and from DTD. We find this very convenient if we have dinner at another resort and want to go back to our room then we just take the DTD bus and then walk to SSR.

I also think SSR has better counter service food than OKW.

OKW is also very large. If your room is in the back of the resort and you want to go to Olivia's for dinner you may want to take a bus to the main building. The walk can be quite long. I personally like to walk very early in the mornings and there is a trail between OKW, SSR & DTD. I typically walk this when I stay at OKW.

Doesn't it seem like it takes forever to get all around OKW on the bus as opposed to SSR? I dunno, it's been awhile since I've stayed at either, but that's what I seem to remember.

Seems as though each resort has its advantages and disadvantages!!!! So hard to choose :ROFLOL:

We stayed at OKW first wk of Oct this yr--awesome--cant go wrong with OKW, great space, charming property, laid back, great slide/pool--dedicated buses that dont stop at other resorts, quick relaxing boat ride to DTD. Would not hesitate to steer you towards OKW!
