I just read that there is a rumor that there will be adventurers club items up for auction tonight at 7. I'll post the link at the bottom with some snip-its from the article. I know a lot of you really enjoyed the club and would be interested.

Tickets are $15 for the event, which takes place in the Margeson Theater at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 E. Rollins St., Orlando. The silent auction (and cocktail hour) begins at 7 p.m.; the show is at 8.
For more information, call 407-252-8830.

Also on hand as part of the evening: a silent auction. Word on the street is there will be Adventurers Club paraphernalia up for bids, including a genuine Hathaway Brown oversized martini glass. (But will it be as oversized as his ego?)

Not really a rumor, AC items will definitely be up for auction. In addition, expect skits from the AC and CW, as well as stand-up from some of the former actors, and a performance by Stormbringer, formerly of the RnR Beach Club and West End Stage. The event is a celebration of the life of a former PI sound tech, as well as a benefit for his widow (another AC actress) so all the money goes to a good cause.

Same-day notice makes it impossible to get there... Pity, I would have seriously considered attending.

I wish I could attend, and even more, I wish I could have made something for the auction (but, bad timing). If you hear anything about another one, let me know ASAP, so I can get to work on some AC art.

the article mentions the comedy warehouse.

will any of these items be up for sale, and if so, would they be disney props or technical equipment?

Basically, anything on auction is from the actor's of AC and CW personal collections. They are trying to raise money to support a friend in need.

Items up for bid included several letters with a beer mug shot glass, Hathaway's giant martini glass, a metal Fletcher Hodges safari hat, and a singing lesson from "Beulah." I know the hat went for north of $100, which, given the cause, is very good news indeed.

The show itself was incredible. There was an unofficial Hoopla, with 5 of the former cast in homemade costumes doing their classic songs. "Bubba" was back as Otis! Did "Lobster/Flounder." Hate to name the rest, as I believe they are all current CMs and I don't want to get anyone in trouble. It was a lot of fun though, no question.

So will any other auctions occur from Disney?

:xmas:

This wasn't Disney-sanctioned, it was a private event, with items donated from actors' personal collections. As far as I know, it was a one-time memorial tribute.

But will Disney auction any items from the AC? Or will they just throw the stuff away the don't ship to HK?

A few have already made their way to Property Control. That or a bulk sale to Mouse Surplus seem the most likely fate.

This has been being talked about for a while on the AC Yahoo group. Is it for Joy, one of the AC/CW CM's. I wish I could make it!

Yes
if anyone sees the CW exit script anywhere, PLEASE let me know! I'm trying to get ahold of it or even a recording of it or even someone who just KNOWS it and can tell me! I want to find a way to integrate it into my job :)

.... Hey, did anyone get anything good? Report, Pics??

Spill the beans man!

Among the items up for bid were a metal safari hat Fletcher occasionally wore (went for north of $100), a giant Hathaway martini glass, a group of letters with a "beer mug" shot glass, and singing lessons from "Beulah" (or at least her caberet-singing alter ego). Also a drawing of all the maids signed by each one "in character." I did not win any of the auctions, sadly.

During the show there was an informal AC reunion, with 5 of the cast unofficially reprising thier characters in home-made costumes and singing their signature Hoopla (Hoopla!) songs. A CW skit, as well. Was a great show, wish every PI fan could have been there.
