Ok not sure if any of these have been asked but, I need to know a few answers.

1 We are flying SW for the first time and I have never flown so not sure of the proper items.
2. Can I bring a third large check in bag with just a small coffee maker, fan, my pillow and some pre packaged coffee for the maker?
3. Maybe some pre packaged pop tarts or bars?
4. Larger than 3 oz baby powder, mouthwash, hair spray in a pump, hair gel larger than 3oz. In the bigger suitcase?
5. Can I carry on the plane a computer(laptop) and a carry on and just put my purse items in the carry on with me?
6. I thought we could only have 2 carry on items each right?
7. Is a small purse strapped across me and the laptop and the carry on too many for me. My husband carry a carry on as well or does he need to carry the lap top and his bag and me my purse and carry on bag?
8.Does the camera and the video camera need to be put ion the carry on so not to count as carry on item of just 2 each.
9.If I have a quart size bag with all the 3oz or smaller toiletries, in the carry on,can I also have my medicine seperate in their just loose and not in the plastic bag? Batteries not opened in the carry on or do I put them in the large check in bag?
10. I know this sounds silly but I just cannot figure it out what they can or cannot let us do.

I do not want to buy batteries there as last year it cost 15.00 for 4 AA batteries and I want to bring one of those large 16 packs with us. Not opened up.
Now do the cameras need to be in the carry on so not to count as one of the 2 items you can walk on with.

I got up out of bed worrying about this tonight . Just 52 days left before we leave and I am a worry wart and scared at the same time for flying..

Thanks for any info..

You and your husband can each check in 2 bags without a fee, so unless this is a fifth bag, you should be OK. Just make sure that the coffee pot is securely packed. You might want to check with your hotel first to see if there is a pot available.
3. Maybe some pre packaged pop tarts or bars?

no problem - those can even go in your carry-on
4. Larger than 3 oz baby powder, mouthwash, hair spray in a pump, hair gel larger than 3oz. In the bigger suitcase?

In the checked bag, yes.
5. Can I carry on the plane a computer(laptop) and a carry on and just put my purse items in the carry on with me?

That's what I do. You'll have to open up the laptop at security, so be ready to do that.
6. I thought we could only have 2 carry on items each right?

Correct - one roller-size bag and one small "personal" bag

7. Is a small purse strapped across me and the laptop and the carry on too many for me. My husband carry a carry on as well or does he need to carry the lap top and his bag and me my purse and carry on bag?

You're each allowed 2, so he could take the laptop and a carry-on while you take the purse and a carry-on.

8.Does the camera and the video camera need to be put ion the carry on so not to count as carry on item of just 2 each.

Yes they do

9.If I have a quart size bag with all the 3oz or smaller toiletries, in the carry on,can I also have my medicine seperate in their just loose and not in the plastic bag? Batteries not opened in the carry on or do I put them in the large check in bag?

You'll have to show them the meds too, so have them ready at security. I know they have some new policies about batteries, but I think it's OK in your carry-on.

10. I know this sounds silly but I just cannot figure it out what they can or cannot let us do.

Have a great trip!

2. Can I bring a third large check in bag with just a small coffee maker, fan, my pillow and some pre packaged coffee for the maker?

- SW allows two checked bags per person, third through ninth checked bags cost $50 each.

3. Maybe some pre packaged pop tarts or bars?
4. Larger than 3 oz baby powder, mouthwash, hair spray in a pump, hair gel larger than 3oz. In the bigger suitcase?

- liquids in checked bags aren't an issue [make sure you pack them wrapped in such a way as to contain leaks]

5. Can I carry on the plane a computer(laptop) and a carry on and just put my purse items in the carry on with me?
6. I thought we could only have 2 carry on items each right?

- TSA regulations allow one carry-on per person and one "personal-type item" [Personal-type items include purses, briefcases, cameras, food containers, or laptops (case included).]

- liquids in carry-on must be in a one-quart zip-lock bag and 3oz or less. Dry medication [pills that are not liquid-filled] can be carried, liquid-filled must be in the quart zip-lock. Batteries: These items must be securely installed in equipment or have exposed terminals protected in a manner to prevent short circuit. Electrical tape, individually bagging batteries in sealable plastic bags, or plastic covers designed to protect the terminals from short circuit would all meet this requirement. Except Lithium batteries, there are separate rules.

I've included direct answers to questions [some of which answer other questions], but you can find every intimate detail at the Southwest site http://www.southwest.com/travel_center/baggage.html or on the links they provide there.

Thank you so much for the info. The batteries are going to be in their original package from the store. Do I put them in carry on or the checked bag. Should I put them in another quart bag as well If they allow only one quart bag can I havew another with the batteries???

I need the noise and the air flow in my face ha ha. But really something I just got used to and have to bring a small one everywhere we go.Plus my fluffy pillow that can be wadded up.. Just my little hang ups.. I have brought them the past 2 years but we drove. I will put the batteries in the carry on and just take them out to show them I guess. Thanks again.

I need the noise too. I used to haul this small-ish CD player around and my husband made CD with the sound of an air purifier on it. But now I have that sound on my mp3 player and I bought this tiny cheapy speaker thing from Bed Bath and Beyond. So I just listen to that sound while I see. It's so easy to bring along.

I wish I could bring my pillow. It's a Tempurpedic though and it's really heavy.

So this is your first time flying EVER? Are you nervous? Excited?

I know what you mean with the heavy thing my husband has one and it does not scrunch up enough for me. But the fan is going. Thats why I thought to bring a 3rd rolling bag for those type of things. I feel so lost not going with our truck. Yes I am terrified that we will not get to sit together. i do not need a stranger to sit next to for sure. I am going to get my daughter to try and check us in 24 hours prior to leaving but we will be eating at Boma at check out to fly back and not sure how that will work. We got a 59.00 each way ticket with SW and no way could we drive for 2 full days for that.
