For TREX reservations, try calling instead of online

Been trying to make an online reservation for Saturday November 28 for dinner at TREX. It's been booked for the past 3 weeks. Today I finally thought, "Why not try calling?" so I called the TREX line directly, and voila! a reservation for 6:45pm on that date, perfect! Long story short, call the restaurant to make your reservation at TREX instead of using Disney's system.

While T-Rex is new - it is no different than the Rain Forrest Cafe. The food was a little more expensive and not that great.

I wouldn't say it's no different than Rainforest.

I really enjoyed T-Rex on our visit last month. Food was fine. Obviously not gourmet, but portions were large and I felt like we got good value.

The theme is unique. After visiting various Rainforest Cafes numermous times, the different atmosphere was a cool change.

We all have our own tastes & likes. Personally, I like the Rainforest/T-Rex type of place and look forward to hitting T-Rex again next year.

p.s. That pizza dough chicken sandwich is AWESOME!!!

when i went to Trex the wait staff didn't even bother coming over and we waited 30 min at the table finally we left i spoke to one of the managers but even he didn't do one thing. My mom was so ticked off we walked in the hot weather all the way to the rain forest café got seated shortly 10 min tops. waiter was the nicest guy i have ever met we gave him a 15 dollar tip since he was so gracious and courteous. I have never ran into a restaurant that was as bad as the last visit to Trex.

I found the food at T-Rex a tick above the Rainforest. Thats not saying it was great, just better.

I find Rainforest a waste of my dining dollar and I plain do not like to eat there. It's not worth the price.

I expected the same from T-Rex, but I was plesantly suprised. While not fine dining by any stretch, I did enjoy the food, and thought the price point was just about right (Taking into account you are also paying for the decor of the place as well)

I want to be clear. I'm not looking for fine dining, as long as the food is edible, I'll be happy (if the portions are as large as Rainforest's my wife and I will probably share something), we're eating here more for my 4 y/o son who loves dinosaurs. Does anyone know if they take TiW?

^^^ It is not listed as a TIW location on the 2009 list of TIW restaurants. Bummer! I'm hoping that will change for 2010, as we want to try it on our spring trip.

Now a question for you all: Do they follow the Disney 90/180 day reservation policy?

They do not. Your best bet is to join their Safari Club. You will get either a free appetizer or 10% off you bill not including alcohol. It is also good for a 10% discount in the store. The same card will also work to the same capacity at RFC. I have some pictures and a short review in my recent trip report.

I checked online and it looks like you have to sign up there, do you still get the discount then or do you have to wait to mail it in and receive your card?

Thanks!
