And 27 Years of EPCOT Center.
Walt Disney World is a tribute to the philosophy and life of Walter Elias Disney... and to the talents, the dedication, and the loyalty of the entire Disney organization that made Walt Disney's dream come true. May Walt Disney World bring Joy and Inspiration and New Knowledge to all who come to this happy place... a Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh and play and learn — together. Roy O. Disney

I know I'm early, but I won't have chance to do this tomorrow, so here we go. :D

Post any pictures, vids, or stories to celebrate!

I have some goodies I've been saving for just such an occasion: a select few scans from a 1967 book that served as a companion document of sorts to the so-called EPCOT film in which Walt makes his pitch to the people of Florida.

The scans are a little quick-n-dirty and some have obvious "seams" because the whole thing wouldn't fit on the scanner at once... but you get the idea. I'll attempt a cleaner scan in the future.

And no, you're not the only one who thinks the shape of the south seas resort area at the top of scan # 3 looks like a fetus. :lookaroun

VERY nice, Jackie...:D Here's what I was looking for in a thread like this...

That's seriously awesome. Does it talk of E.P.C.O.T. at all?

More scans from the 1967 book, this time focusing on E.P.C.O.T.

Thoughts: 38 years ago, I was negative 10 years old. So I don't remember much about the birth. :lookaroun

How about this:
Even Walt was smart enough to realize that running the monorail everywhere on property was not feasible. He had a secondary source (in his case, the WEDWay PeopleMover) to get people to where they needed to go.

So...we should be talking about WEDWay expansion?
