One thing: I think I saw that you mentioned (in some previous thread) that you have a D5000. It won't autofocus on a D5000. Ultra Wide Angle lenses are about the easiest lenses to manually focus, but you should still be prepared for that.

I'm used to it. i'm a for cheap glass to play around with, and most of it manually focuses on the D5000 and D60.

I purchased a lensbaby muse last week, and am waiting for it to arrive... that'll be a new experience for me.

Oh trust me, I'm not paid much. I just finally looked at my paycut from 8 months back. Jeeez.....

Being paid 'not much' is still more than nothing at all. The entirety of my income is from three months in the summer plus any additional money I can make by buying things and flipping them on eBay. Other than that, school is pretty much a full time job.

Hopefully someday I'll go full frame. For right now, though, it's just not something I can justify. No matter how much fun I know I'd have...

Good to know that the manual focus doesn't prejudice you. I bought the Nikkor 12-24 when I had the D40. As soon as I used it a little, I realized I could've bought the Tokina 11-16 and manually focused without any issues. Shortly after I bought the D90, I bought the 11-16. After about a week of comparing the 12-24 to the 11-16, it was abundantly clear to me that the Tokina 11-16 was much better (at least for me).

When I first got into photography, I was for some reason arbitrarily biased towards OEM lenses. I'm glad I got over that, because the Sigma 30 1.4 and the Tokina 11-16 are the two best lenses I own. I've heard the new Nikkor 35 1.8 is good (never tried it), but I cannot imagine that it compares to the Sigma 30. I was actually surprised at how good the Sigma 30 was; all of the previous Sigma lenses I've tried have, frankly, sucked.

For what it's worth, anyone considering the Sigma 30 should hand pick their copy. I have heard Sigma has quality control issues with these lenses (all of their lenses, for that matter), and it would be a pain in the ______ to get a copy with an issue and have to send it back.
