Does anyone know how big the tunnel is at the end of space mountain that turns red like a planet or star just exploded. I have always felt that if I get any taller I would hit my head and I always wondered if it was just a optical illusion. Dose any body know?

It's not very big at all--if you reach your hands up, you can touch the sides, and it hurts lol...luckily you are only going about 15 mph at that time, or people would lose fingers...more often than they already do lol

I have always thought about doing that but never did for my own fear of my saftey and the fact that I am scared that if I did I would manage to slow the vieacal down enough to stop it and get stuck

lol...you couldn't stop the rocket...they are quite a bit heavier than you...regardless, I wouldn't recommend touching the sides of the tunnel...I just let my boyhood love of exploration take over me lol...guess I can call it a "manhood love of exploration", now...since it hasn't gone away lol;)

I don't think it hurts, it's a tradition of mine now to touch it on every trip. Its smooth except I guess where the different sections of the tunnels meet it has a rough bump.

im pretty sure the tunnel is high enough for most average americans to fit and im sure that if they would think that u were in danger they would tell u i dont think they would risk the ride taking somebodies head. Ofcourse if u stand in the ride or take out ur hands that is not there fault i mean they tell u like a thousand time to please keep ur hands inside ur rocket. And if ur hearing impared they have it written on the safety directions in front of each seat.:)

Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times and take small children firmly by the hand. or as the Haunted Mansion might add.....Step Lively!!!

If you can do it and barely touch it it wouldn't hurt...(not that I recommend doing this anyways)...but...it's tough to judge how "far away" the tunnel is

I almost touched it one time, but then said "Better Not". Someone told me that those tunnels are made of glass. Is that true?:veryconfu

Everything on Space Mountain scares me like I'm going to hit it. I am forever on that ride putting my arms up and yelping b/c I think I may hit my arms on beams or whatever. (I'm only 5'8", so don't think I'm some giant.) I guess it's just the speed plus the darkness.

At least I try to touch them though. The rest of my family just holds on. Haha... WUSSES! :p
