Monorail Purple Used in E-mail...

Ok... so not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but I found it kind of unsettling. Not only did they use monorail purple, but the way it's used as well, just kind of left a weird feeling in my stomach. This is the header image from a Disney Destinations e-mail I received today. The name of the file is (purple_02)

I know in large companies things fall through the cracks... but come on...

I promise it's legit, Ill be happy to forward the e-mail to anyone questioning it. I mean, it may be something they've used for quite some time, but the fact that they're still using it bothers me.

In all honesty 99% of the people receiving the email will not make the connection. Should they have changed it? Sure, but it is far from the end of the world or an insult to the CM that died.

Perhaps the person responsible for the email is colourblind... I wouldn't know that was purple. :shrug:

I questioned whether it was purple or pink, but since the filename says purple... I guess it's purple. Not that pink is much better.

Personally, it doesn't bother me if they used a photo of purple. My mousepad I'm using right now shows purple passing in front of SSE, but I don't feel bad for using it.

I don't think Disney or whomever was responsible for sending the e-mail meant any disrespect. I think that it was an oversight but, I agree the timing was poor.

That's not at all what I said... having something of purple is fine... maybe even a sentimental item. I just think using pictures of purple with happy cartoons stuffed up against the windshield of the cab should be scratched. Changing the color of the monorail wouldn't take long at all... Im not outraged or anything, I just think it should be changed.

It's probably closer to 99.99%.
But us WDW geeks.............. we notice it right away.
I'm sure they'll realize the oversight and get a new color in there for future mailings.

In all probability this is done by a separate company. I'll bet that if you were to ask the person who actually did this email about the monorail crash he/she would say "There was a monorail crash?"

Yes they should but we also know the reality of the situation. Some tech guy was told to update and send out Disney email #684-9 to email list 278 and that was what he did.

I agree ... While I am sure it was an honest mistake, but the timing couldn't be any worse.

With this happening wouldn't they also remove anything that reflected Purple or Pink monorail lines like the Toys (if there is any)..:shrug:
