Hm. Interesting to note. Shame though...![]()
Yeah, we had heard about the barge issues...Those might have been resolved by now, seeing that we have had a few positive reports.I just got home on Thursday from a week in WDW. It was my roommate's first trip. We tried to see RoE twice, and neither time was a very good show.
On our arrival night (6/4), the wind shifted and then died down just as the show started, so smoke just hung in the air over the lagoon. Then as Chaos was ending, the skies opened up into a downpour. We weren't prepared for it, so we scrambled into one of the Showcase Plaza stores. The rain did die down to a heavy mist close to the end, so we were able to see the end, but again, the smoke wasn't clearing so the show lost its impact.
On Sunday (6/7), the Earth Globe's screens didn't work at all. The barge moved out on-cue, but the screens stayed black the entire show. (I actually had to point out the barge to my roommate, because he couldn't pick it out in the darkness) It opened up and the torch lit just fine, but it still made for a bad show. Also, none of the perimeter seawall shots were fired.
Though at least the Inferno Barge worked properly both times...
Unfortunately, we didn't have any other chances to get back to try and see the show again on our trip.

6/12 was a perfect show all around, except the red floating strobes and blue octopi during Celebration, as usual.
What was wrong with the octopi? They were fine when I saw them about a week ago... :veryconfu
The timing was awful. I will probably upload a video of the majority of RoE. For some reason, my camera stopped recording just as the first 2 shells of the second round of octopi broke.
Two would break on time and then there would be another, and then another.
The last shell of the second round broke while the whistling mines were in the air, a good 2.5 seconds after it was supposed to break. The shell was also very low meaning that it probably reached max altitude and started to fall before it broke.
Just to clarify, the octopi are the gold to blue aerial shells used in Celebration. They sort of look like flowers.
