I do miss the hydrolators and the old TLS but I do not hate the addition. It's a nice little dark ride, I just wish they would have put it in DAK and made it a little longer.

I absolutely love the addition of Nemo to the Seas. Sometimes aquariums can get a little dull, but with Nemo and Turtle talk, the whole pavilion is anything but dull.

Should have been redone with a large Nemo Section in the back, akin to DisneySea's TLM pavilion but the MAIN part should have been a revitalized and futuristic SeaBase Alpha for the 21st Century.

I like that idea!

The original concept drawings had it with an Atlantis?Posiedon theme, it would have been cool to see this.

I've said this before, but I think the overlay is good, but I miss Sea Base Alpha.

Just changing out that preshow movie with something that created a reason on why you needed to go to Sea Base Alpha, take the Hydrolators, and the sea cabs would have been an easy change. Perhaps an more exciting ride through the first half of the seacab ride. Make going to Sea Base Alpha an adventure, not a trip.

I miss the hydrolators, too, but in my version of The Seas, they would have stayed. The difference would be in the story telling. Intead of theme being "hydrolators" that take you to and from Sea Base Alpha, they would have been the blow spout of a whale (remember when Marlin and Dory are "shot up" to the surface during the movie?). This would have served as your exit from the sea base (which would more like the coral reef in my version) back into Future World.

All in all, Nemo wasn't the worst thing that could happen to The Living Seas. I just wish the attraction still had a bit more of an educational and serious aspect to it (while still being fun of course!). Also, the refurb left things "half-done". Like the Sea Base Alpha area... what is it? Is it a sea base or are we in the coral reef? I mean, its supossedly a sea base, but the transition from the ride to the main exhibit area is never clear and could be done better, IMHO. We go from being uderwater in open clam-mobiles to being contained inside a sea base? The coral reef is a much better transition, as you get off the ride and "swim" right into Nemo's home, which is where the story of the ride leaves us. Its things like this that could have been done so much better, and for relatively little cost (I mean really, some decorative styrofoam on the pillars and around the windows can't be that much). As it is, the pavilion is still half Living Seas, half Seas with Nemo; I wish it was clearly just ONE of thse themes.

The ride is just another cheap way of making ride, like in Mexico, if I wanted to see the Three Cabelero's movie I would just pop the tape in my VCR player. I really hate all the films - would have rather since animinatronics or something original.

When you say this do you mean you hate all Disney films?

Yes, that would have been epic, too. It would have also worked easily into the Future theme. It's like SSE and history. It would have been nice to see some mythology in FW too.:D

See above. 1981-84 plans called for a Poseidon Adventure.

It's Future World's best pavilion by far as of now. I only miss the Hydrolator's (OK that and the 20K stuff in the old queue) but I can live without them. The educational exhibits are still there, plus an enjoyable ride, Turtle Talk and my favorite thing in FW, the Coral Reef restaurant*.

*Which is why I'll never be a true EPCOT fanboi because I think the best thing in a park that was meant to inspire and educate is a restaurant next to a big fish tank.

I actually like what they did--the focus (I think) of The Seas is still the marine life, but they've made it much more accessable to the average guest. If you go to any successful aquarium in the country, you'll see the same thing, honestly. I also think projecting the Finding Nemo characters into the aquarium with the real fish is really cool technology (and it looks better than it does at DL). I would definitely describe The Seas as still being "edutaining." And I don't miss the EXTREMELY dated fake elevators. The new queue line for the ride still offers a very cool way to get you down below water. They just need a better exit than sliding glass doors--that is the one thing that spoils the illusion.

I like what they did, and yet I still miss the old Living Seas too. Just an observation -most of Epcot has little to nothing to do with Disney characters. The park seems like something completely seperate, in general. It's odd that a whole entire pavilion became dedicated to one film.

Yes I refer to this as the dumbing down of Epcot.

When you ride the hydrolators the 1st time it's pretty cool. But not much really happens on them and it gets boring on subsequent visits. I think the Nemo ride is a far superior way to enter the Living Seas.
