Anybody Out There Not Get Sick?

Hi All - I stayed at POR from December 1st to December 9th. I came down with Bronchitics on December 4th. Pretty much ruined my vacation. The Bronchitics caused my asthma to flare up so it was not a good vacation. My friend came down with a bad cold. So many people were sick that they ran out of cough medicine one night at POR.

I went to Disney the first week of December last year and came down with a stomach flu. It seems the only time I get sick is at Disney. The rest of the year, perfectly healthy :brick:

No more December Disney vacations for me.

I have to agree with some other posters. I grew up in a nice tiddy home and now live with 4 dogs that share my ice cream also. I don't use hand sanitizer but do wash my hands and that stuff. I almost never get sick in my family. My step son is always freaking out about germs and dog hair and is almost always sick. My husband gets sick all the time and is always amased that it never passes to me.

There's something to be said for the over villiainization (word i just made up? LOL) of germs. I am paranoid about getting a really bad bug (like NV) because I don't want it to ruin my trip. People are using antibacterial everything and that's making the germs stronger and more resistent. Same with using medications when they're unnecessary. My home growing up was kept pretty darn clean. Mom was a bit obsessive. But we still had pets, I still played outside in the dirt, etc. I also chugged about a gallon of OJ a day during my teen years because I absolutely love it. I was never a sick child.

DH & I aren't as obsessive as my mom but our house is tidy. As tidy as you can get with a saint bernad and 3 cats. I'm obsessed about a clean kitchen because that's a food prep area. DH & I get sick once or twice a year and that's only because friends who are sick come by and infect the lot of us. We don't get it nearly as bad though. There's something to be said about good bacteria that's allowed to flourish in our bodies and there's even something to be said about small doses of bad bacteria to up our immunities.

We were at WDW from 12-18 thru the 23rd. We stayed at the BC...went to all four parks...everyone is well including Mom who is 78. There are sick people everywhere..........wow.... the paranoia is......well Paronoid.
