Where do CM's who work at WDW full time go for their vacations?

One drawback to being a full time CM at WDW would seem to be that you might not go there for your vacation?
So where do CM's go?

Well, either Disneyland or sometimes the Disney Cruise. (If the funds allow) In all honesty, many families of CM's don't live in the central FL area, so many CMs go back to thier famlies.

Actually thanks to cast discount the Cruise prices are really cheap. When I move down I plan on visiting family in Chicago, VA, and KY, going on the cruises, and visiting all other Disney parks and resorts (yay hawaii!!). I just need to find a hook up to get cheaper plane tickets since that's what costs me the most when I go to WDW

Been on the cruise, went to Disneyland...also took in all of southern Cali and then drove out to Vegas before heading back here.

But I've traveled to a few other places even as far away as Europe and Jamaica.

Honestly, you would be amazed by just how well-traveled a lot of the Cast Members really are. I remember having many conversations with full-time, part-time, seasonal, and CP/ICP CMs about different travel destinations, especially foreign ones. I remember that I got into the topic of Morocco with one of the Friendship Boat captains and he told me about how he had recently come back from spending five weeks in the part of the country called Western Sahara. Plenty of other Cast Members have also been to many different places around the world and had many interesting stories to share, as well.

I have spoke to numerous CM's and asked that very question, many have said they travel to the other Parks around the world, but then again several of those CM's were retired from somewhere else so had it a little better money wise:shrug:

Retired now

The North Carolina mountains are a popular destination for all Floridians. Camping is cheap and the weather milder. I've known some cast members on leaner budgets who would camp closer to home... in Ocala National Forest.

My first years at Disney - when I worked in the parks or backstage still in hourly roles - my vacations were mostly at home when family and friends would visit. A Main Gate Pass and comp tickets helped with that.

Later, I slowly made career moves to jobs paying competitively with any other employer. That made trips to England and to the West Coast possible. My point is, not all jobs at WDW are entry level and low-paying. But I would add that I think too many are, and Part Timers/Seasonal cast need benefits as much as anyone else.
