We will be visiting WDW this fall and also going to MNSSHP on 10/30. Would someone on the boards be kind enough to advise me where we could get some good costumes for the party,2 adults 2 children - boys aged 10 & 6:veryconfu. We are travelling from the UK and do not want to carry any more luggage than is necessary.

Thanking you in advance:D

Not sure where, but a bit of friendly advise.

Do not have costumes with Masks, any kind of mask. My 8 year old son was told he had to remove his mask by a CM at MNSCHP. It was not a full face mask, just a eye mask.

I ordered mine for last year's MNSSHP off eBay. It was a fairly simple Cinderella costume that packed quite easily into my suitcase.

That would have been for safety reasons. The CMs need to make sure that everyone can see to safely board and depart the attractions, which is why they asked him to take the mask off.

I posted this before but here's the guidelines that were mentioned in the letter I got with my MNSSHP Ticket.

-Costumes should not obstruct the guest's view or interfere with their ability to board/unload from attractions and/or Walt Disney World Resort Transportation system (including monorails, ferry boats and motor coaches).

-Drag on the ground.

-Be offensive to other guests.

-Contain sharp or pointed objects or material that may accidentally strike another guest.

-Contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon

That's the thing, it didn't. The mask has massive eyeholes.

He was really disappointed as it ruined his POTC costume. I can see the point about visibilty, but his vision was by no means impaired.

Anyhoo, we didn't stay for very long after that as he was so upset we left the event early.

Your on property sources will be rather limited. For the most part you will be looking at World of Disney at DTD and that is about it. If you have access to a rental car there are several wal-marts just off property that will have considerably more options. There are also a number of costume rental stores around WDW that can be located with a goggle search.

Thanks everyone that a real big help:sohappy:

Both DS would be so unamused to find so many in fancy dress and the two of them in ordinary clothes.
