FYI!!! AAA is running a special right now. $45 for a year with a dependent added on. I could care less about the membership with them but they give 10-20% your room rate. My travel agent (not associated with AAA) booked my trip. Don't let AAA tell you they have to book it, that's not true. I saved almost $200.00 off the total of my room at Port Orleans Riverside December 13-19. I got a preferred room with a king bed by the water for $134.20 a night. Sounds like a deal to me!! I'll take it! :D

That's great! Do you have a local travel agent? I was going to book my package through AAA because having their membership does save you, but I'm wondering if I should try other avenues to save money or if booking through AAA is the best for a package? Any thoughts or suggestions out there?

Thanks for the help!

I would try getting a quote through both AAA and a local travel agent. I tried both and they were the same so I went ahead and used my local travel agent.

I've never when through a travel agent before....I don't get to travel much. This may be a dumb question but how much does it cost to go through them, what kind of a fee do they charge. A percentage of the trip?

I think the only "charge" is the room or vacation plan deposit that is required by Disney. So, all things being equal, call an agent, book a trip and get a discount (or at the very least the headache of booking everything is someones else's), and you still only have to pay what Disney would have charged you without an agent. Works.

If you are going to be driving to the parks while at WDW I would go through AAA to get the Diamond parking pass. Parking up front at all the parks is a lifesaver if you have young children in strollers.

I got a quote through Disney by calling them and through my travel agent and it was the same price. There is no charge for the customer, I think Disney just gives them some commission off of the sale.
