I would like to leave for the airport about 4 1/2 hours before my flight on the return home! disney says they pick up 3 hours before a flight, I could request an eailer time but it is not a guarantee because the bus might be filled at the time I want! I was thinking of giving them an eailer flight # which is not my flight time so I will get an earlier bus! Can I do this? I won't use the airport check in at the hotel and just check in the bags myself!

I suppose you could do that, if you really want to hang around at the airport that long! I seriously doubt that Disney checks outgoing flight manifests to see who's actually flying in which plane.

I'm on the flip of that. I'd rather catch a later bus for our flight. I always wait at the airport for a couple of hours from using DME and I don't like to do that. Could you give a later arrival number?

The airlines tell you you need to be at the airport 2 hours early for TSA screening etc. I would love to get to the airport later also but I'm a rule follower and have also seen how long the lines at MCO can get. We've waited in line for almost an hour just to get to the gates. Why do you want to get to the airport so early missionspace?

I would just get to the MSE bus stop early and try to get on the buses. I got on the bus an hour early last month because I didn't have anything else to do but sit at the hotel and get sadder about leaving.

I agree...once you've reconciled that vacation is over, why postpone the inevitable?! AND depending on what time and day you leave, the lines for security can look rather intimidating. Besides, there's plenty to do at the airport (shopping if you have money left ). If you do get on an earlier bus, let the driver know you were scheduled for later. I think they do have a list of 'pick-ups' that they are expecting.

The two hour rule is a good guide during busy times such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and a few other busy travel days.

MCO runs very smooth for the most part and security check points are only a short 15 minute delay at most. If you use online check in yu can arive betwen 60 - 90 minutes before your flight and all will be ok.

When I went through MCO a few weeks ago it took me a good 20 or 30 min to get through the check point. And that was a wednesday afternoon.

I'm 100% sure you didn't think of what I'm about to say, so I'm not judging you or coming down on you or anything, but I thought this was important info to share.

What you did could have had very negative consequences for others, however unintended that would be.

On the way BACK to the airport, you are scheduled for a specific bus at a specific time. IF the bus you are getting on early is scheduled to be full, and IF you get on at the first pick-up, your presence will mean that someone else will not be able to get onto the bus. Again, if the bus was reserved to be full, and you are an extra person on that bus, that means you are taking up the seats of someone who NEEDS to be on that bus, who has a reservation on that bus, who may now possibly miss their plane because you stranded them at their resort for awhile until another bus comes along (a minimum of 30 minutes). And then if that bus isn't full but will be later, then THAT person will displace someone else, and so on.

Something to think about before attempting to get on an airport-bound bus that is not your own assigned bus.
