So I heard there will be a new firework show for New Years at MK? Does anyone have more details on this? I am wondering if it will be worth the effert of going to the park and putting up with the crowds LOL.

Epcot!

It's much more festive and lively. Fireworks are better (Magic Kingdom still didn't get the new show this year.) It's just as crowded, but the park is much bigger, so it may be less stressful for you. Plus, if you're by Canada, you can see MK fireworks and hear MGMs all at the same time.

MK is doing the show 3 nights. 29th, 30th, and 31st. While the music is still the same the fireworks and perimeters have been redesigned top to bottom by the designer of Epcots NYE shows. I can tell you this will be MK's loudest show to date.

As someone else in the thread already posted, MK is doing their Fantasy In the Sky Fireworks on the 29th, 30th and 31st at 11:50 p.m. every night. The park is open until 1:00 a.m. every night and we highly suggest you stay in the park after the fireworks to avoid the massive queue that will form up for the transportation out.

Actually, don't tell anyone this, but getting out on New Years Eve is quite simple. Just head on over to the resort monorail. There is minimal wait. I've done it for the past 3 years....

Darn, now everyone will know.... :brick:

I know that boo or Omega will know this...

When does out-bound transportation commence again after the fireworks?
Transportation will keep running during the fireworks. That has been a problem in years past so we remedied the situation. If you choose to leave during the fireworks, you will have no problem doing such.

Monorails will be the only transportaion permited to run. Ferryboats will not run until around 5 minutes after show.

Has anyone ever done NYE at the Studios? We are going to MK the night of the 29th to catch Holiday Wishes and the NYE fireworks but don't know if we wanna brave the crazy crowds at Epcot or just do the Studios. I don't know what kind of entertainment they have. I have heard they had Mulch, Sweat and Shears perform in the evening but not much besides that. And how are there fireworks?

One of the few times i find myself in agreement with Merf.

The Midnight show at Epcot has a tag with fireworks over all teh countries. Its very good.

Although if Boo is saying that they've blown away the classic "mirror" show with something all new, go check out MK's. Because the old one rocked.

Does anyone know if there will be some good vantage points for the fireworks at Downtown Disney that night?

I was there a few years ago for fireworks and I remember seeing them ok from West Side on the lake side (which I guess is now facing Saratoga Springs)

Not doing away with the mirror effect but modifying it. We will still shoot from the island, but it won't be an exact mirror. And BTW the perimeters will have more stuff on them than any show we've done to date at MK.

What is this "mirror effect"?

And does anyone know if you can see the fireworks at Downtown Disney pretty good anywhere in the complex?
