Snack in 2008?

I have been researching my families future trip to WDW and have been looking at the DDP. I have read on here and All Ears on what has been deemed a snack up until this point, ie a lot of snacks $4.00 or less. According to the DDP brochure on the disney site it gives examples of water bottles, small bag of popcorn, bottle of pop, fruit, etc. Does this mean that this is all you can get with the snack credit? Or will one still be able to get snacks like Dole Whips, rice crispy treats, etc?

Hi Sam!

There are lots of snacks available with the Dining Plan Snack Credits, but there is no "rule" for what is and what is not covered.

The only way to tell is by going to that venue and looking for the "DP SNACK" idenification sticker next to that item.

For example, Dole Whips and Floats ARE included, as are most items from the snack carts, including small popcorn boxes and drinks.

A pleasant surprise was that we could also get most items from the Main Street bakery, and the Rice Crispy treats from the Candy Store!

When in doubt, just ask at the location! As I said, there is no "under $4" rule, as some of the items we found under $4 were NOT counted as snacks!

HAVE FUN!

:)

But will this be the same for 2008? Reading the brochure on the Disney site, it doesn't list things like Dole Whip's and some of the "nicer more expensive more tastier" (my words) snacks that people have gotten up until now.

I'm pretty sure the brochure has never listed what are available as snacks, they've always just had the 'examples' you've quoted. Dole Floats have been snacks as long as I remember on DDP, but they've never been mentioned in the brochure.

The symbol on the menu is on a lot of items... Don't worry, you'll still find lots.

Thanks everyone! As you can tell I can be a little OCD in my planning of this trip. I don't want to have any "surprises" when I get there. After reading about all the great snacks that are available I wanted to know if I needed to save up extra for them.

This was not the case when we went.

The apples are priced at around $6.99 I believe, and were not available as a SNACK on the Dining Plan - at least when we were there last week!

This was wrongly posted here eariler, as I had heard it too and was a little surprised when I got there.

Just a note on the plan symbol..

It's really easy to recognize -it's a square divided into 4 squares with D-D-P and a mickey head in the boxes - but not all locations have it - when in doubt, ask. Also, similar or identicle items at one location may be on the DDP but not at another. Those are few and far between, but do sometimes happen.

I had access to a list once-upon-a-time of every single snack at every location that sold them that qualified for the DDP. Literally thousands of choices, so dont be worried ;)

See those purple/white boxes next to certain menu items? That's the DDP logo.
