Liquid Medicine in Carry-on?

Hopefully someone will know the answer to this for me.... We leave in 9 days, and our 2 year old son was diagnosed this morning with ear infections in both ears. :brick: (poor little thing!) He's on a 10 day course of liquid antibiotics, which need to be refidgerated. He will need his last 2 doses after we arrive at the World. Will I be allowed to carry the meds on the plane? Should I pack it in our luggage? Any ideas on how to keep it cold? I thought about just skipping the last 2 doses to make life easier, but then thought better of it. He really needs to have the whole course. HELP!!

If he doesn't need it during the flight, pack it in an insulated bag with a freezer-pack included. That'll keep it cold for as much as 12 hours. at the hotel, if your room doesn't already have a refrigerator, request one for his meds.

Certainly don't skip the last two, that's what leads to antibiotic resistant strains...

Thanks for the reply, Monty. It sounds like it will work fine that way, since he won't need it until later in the evening, after we arrive. We are at the Poly, so we're good with the fridge. The idea to skip the doses left my head as soon as it entered.... definitely not a smart thing to do. :o Thanks again.

We just went through this with my grandson. My daughter put the medicine in an insulated bag - no ice or ice pack. She declared the medicine when she went through security - no problem as long as prescription is on the bottle or on the original box. After security, she put ice in a ziplock bag (which she brought). When we got to the resort, she put the medicine (with new ice) in the hotel safe as we couldn't get into our rooms for several hours. Disney was very accommodating.

As long as the medicine is in its original bottle, it's fine. You can also bring ice packs to keep it cool if the medicine requires it.

I'm late, too, but those last two doses of liquid medicine couldn't possibly be more than the 3 ounces of liquid allowed through security, anyway! Take the advice offered so well already here, and you'll be fine.

Have a great trip!
