There have been a lot of shows on the travel channel lately about Disney Parks and these 2 guys are always on them. So my question is who are Tony Baxter and Tom Fitzgerald? (sorry if i misspelled their names). Executive VP of Show Design or something like that...

Are they the guys who think the attractions up and then the engineers build them???

And for all the insiders in here who is the better one, if you had to work for/with them?

Thanks

For some reason, when I first saw the title of this thread I immediately thought "Who is your daddy and what does he do?" :ROFLOL:

I response to your question though, I don't know, I was just drawn to the thread by the title.

BTW, I went to college near your hometown!

He is the Senior Vice President of Creative Development for Walt Disney Imagineering, and has overall creative direction for Disneyland.
He has worked on lots...Big Thunder Mountain... Disneyland Paris...

Tom Fitzgerald
But from what I can see he is Executive Vice President, Senior Creative Executive for WDI.

I am sure my friend knows of Tom Fitzgerald as well, since he works with all of them at WDI. I will have to ask about him.

Hmmmm... I always thought he was that guy from Horizons, and they just let him hang around afterward... :animwink:

But seriously, he'd only been an Imagineer a year or two before he was drafted to provide the likeness for one of the Animatronics in Horizons and the "live" version on screen in the previous scene:

I've always wondered if he has that Animatronic hanging around in his office in Glendale... ;)

So i read the articles on laughing place and wikipedia. Tony sounds like he really knows what he talking about. If he is the one who thought up BTMRR then he is a total genius. That in my opinion is the most well thought out, themed mild rollercoaster ever (i like it better at night personally) in my opinion. So I take it that since he is the brains behind the DL resort then he has his work cut out for him with California Adventure for a while.

So if Tony is in charge of the California braintrust who is the guy in Florida???

Yeah, i went to college here too. Origionally from Chicago, but unfortunatly i didnt leave afterward. Good thing is that I met my wife here and now have a new baby girl... So looking back at it i guess it was a good idea for me to stay. Go Bears!!!

Tony Baxter was also one of the brainchilds behind my all-time favorite attraction, Journey Into Imagination. That man needs to come back over to the east coast, and soon.

Tony is also the brain behind Splash Mountain, which is, today, my favorite Disney experience. I LOVE that attraction! Yea to Tony! Which mean, in Orlando, that he OWNS that side of the park! LOL!
