Margaritas on Gran Fiesta Tour?

Now that they've refurbed El Rio del Tiempo to make it more "kid friendly," does anyone know if they still allow riders to bring margaritas on board?

That is a really good question. I am sure we still can! Funny I've never thought to do it, though...guess I will have to try and get back to you...

Any way to sneak 'em on? :lookaroun

Yes - during F&W 2006 - the passholder preview of Nemo - I smuggled on one of the tall souvenir beers to enjoy on the ride. (To christen the ride, I figured) -

I just had a sturdy bag that the beer sat in nestled with all the crap I had bought that day.

I knew the Mexico ride was the only ride that said you could bring a drink on board (or at least they never said a word about not being able to). So I assumed that was still the case with the revamped ride. I took a Margarita on the ride with me once in May of 07, and twice in September of 07, and none said a word to me. But a lot of you are saying you had problems, so I guess they don't permit it anymore. Well, it's a tradition of mine to ride the Mexico ride at least once a visit and enjoy my drink, and I think I'll continue to do so, until I'm told not to.

It depends on who is working the line that day! We hit the ride many times during food and wine fest and only once were we asked to finish the drinks. I say that is one in about 15 times that we had to finish the beers. All other times, we enjoyed all types of beverages.

The funny thing is, we had to finish our alcohol before getting on the ride, not things like coke or ice cream! Crazy stuff sometimes. Oh well, we just downed the beers and got more after seeing Donald in all his glory!

So now you gotta chug down your drink before you can ride, but everyone else can bring other food/snacks/ice cream on? I am not sure if they changed the rule to follow the more "kid friendly" aspect of the attraction, but I don't think that making adults down their alcoholic drinks in front of the entrance to the ride is going to make the place look any more "kid friendly"

Kinda funny if you think about it...swig that margarita down, let the alcohol get into your bloodstream while you wait in line, then step into a BOAT...ON WATER...while intoxicated. Instead, you could sip it slowly while you ride, then step out of the boat back onto solid ground just as it begins to fully affect you...interesting logic there...

Anyway, 2 words for those really wanting to get the drink on board...water bottle...I know, no salt, but that will keep your cholesterol down...the healthy choice...:ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

Yeah -- and I wonder how many times the booze has taken effect all of a sudden and someone yelled out "Where the $#% did all these &$%ing ducks come from?!?"

/yes I know they're not all ducks
/but if you were drunk you might think they were
/shut up and finish your drink
/free drinks colonel
/and so forth

I snuck mine on during my last trip. I was wearing cargo Khakis and just threw the drink in my pants. It was humorous. The cast members just looked at me when we were getting off trying to figure out how i got on with the drink.
