T-Rex, Pleasure Island and more

Hopefully I will have some decent updates this week, and here's a small start:

T-rex had a booth at Festival of the Masters this past weekend and the executive chef was offering free samples of his Ravioli with Lobster Sauce. It was tasty. They also showed pictures of the Aqua Bar and the Fire Pit. The restaurant looks like it should be a real crowd pleaser. Construction is heavily under way with much of the dirt moved and the ground set for the foundation to be placed.

Pleasure Island is still in the middle of a face lift, which has recently included more flat screens, ranging from 46 inches on the midway, to 60 inches in some of the clubs! The picture quality on these is great! Curl is also moving along quickly, still no word on an opening date.

Some of the clubs should be receiving new drink packages, and are still running an Xellent promo on busy nights, including the Xellent Angels.

Be careful driving around property over the next month and a half as there will be an increased OCSD presence on the roadways looking for speeding, drunk and agressive driving. Always better safe than sorry!

If you are planning on getting Christmas Ornaments personalized, NOW is the time to do it! Currently the wait time at the Days of Christmas is about a day, but very soon it will be up to a week!

And as far as anyone can tell, if you're visiting in 2008 and haven't booked anything yet (rooms, packages, dining, ect), I highly recommend getting on that ASAP. Just a hunch.......

Nice info. I'm excited to see what else we find out this week since supposedly this is "the week," right? (Whatever that means).

Sort of. Some years we get lots, some years it's tiddliewinks. Here's hoping!

And no promises, because sometimes things just can't be shared.

I have my two trips booked for next year [Feb and Aug], but can you share the rationale behind your hunch? Is there something coming that will increase the occupancy significantly or is there already starting to be times that are unavailable on a large scale? Inquiring minds want to know...

[Well, OK. I'm intrigued... :p]

Nothing terribly exciting, no secrets or big events that are new or anything. Just the fact that hotel occupancies are already fairly high. It's incredible how many sites at Ft. Wilderness aren't available all year. Insane. And it seems that WDW has returned as a premier meeting destination too!

Boo! I guess this means I'm going to have to leave earlier for work now.

I already have my February and April trips booked. I would also love to go ahead and book my October, December and SWW trips but without some idea of special event dates I have to wait. Any chance you could you do us a favor and put a bug in the right persons ear to start locking these dates down a little more than 2 months prior to the event? With rooms and dinning booking out 6 months or more in advance it is making arranging these trips centered around special events a real pain.

If I could change that, I would. But the 6 month dining window becoming an issue with the increase in popularity IS something that many are well aware of.

I'm suprised by that also. I can't wrap my head around the fact that we have the announced dates for the PPP already but they can't release the dates for the MNSSHP in the same amount of time.

MNSSHP and MVMCP are not to hard to plan around the big x-factor special event as of late has been SWW. Over it's run at MGM it has had either 3 or 4 different schedules with the most recent change being last year.

It is nice to see something possitive said about Pleasure Island for A change. Lately, all the comments have been very negative and even suggesting they may be closed before my trip in Feb.. Do they still do New Years every night? Been awhile since my last visit.

Nope. It and the fireworks are gone.
