On the 3,4 and 7 night caribbean cruises. I didn't do any of the med cruises, so not sure about thoseStill bitter about that one. And I haven't done the west coast (yet, that's this summer
YAY).
That is correct that they are currently the only ones allowed to. Disney uses a proprietary air-launch system and low-polutant fireworks. Not that other ships wouldn't be allowed to if they requested permission and were able to meet environmental regulations. That being said, ships usually travel within 2s and 3s for safety reasons, so you can usually see the Disney fireworks aboard some carnival and royal caribbean ships. They are also pretty short, so make sure you are there ahead of time if you want to see them.
Disney claims they are the only vessels allowed to have fireworks at sea. I don't quite understand that. They may be the only ones that do it, but the only one thats ALLOWED to?
I know they are the only ships that can show first run movies at sea - thats because they own them (Disney films at least).

As far as distress beacons... couldn't tell you, but that's an interesting pointI'll have to ask Captain Anderson and Captain John. As far as the 3 night, you bet!
