I am curious what everybody thinks of the leave a legacy in the front of epcot.I was there in 2000,when it was just up and running. But now it looks like a masoleum.Do they still have people doing this or is it discontinued?

I believe they have discontinued it...I am pretty sad about it as my wife and I waited until my 2nd child was born, that way we could be remembered as a family...now my wife is due at the end of december and they have dismantled the legacy booth...so sad:shrug:

You can do the mickey bricks the same way.

As for LAL. I think it looks like a grave yard. I hope they remove it soon.

The mickey bricks are nice. The LAL is not so great looking. My husband and I were thinking the same thing, that they will move it somewhere off center. It does feel like you are walking through a graveyard. And takes away from the epcot entrance quite a bit.MK, of course, is pretty because of main street and the castle.Animal kingdom is a beautiful park.MGM ,the entrance is like walking into old time hollywood/beverly hills. All very nice,so disney can definitely do a lot better for epcot.

Heading for the great escape.
Sometimes I wonder if these threads are fishing trips.

However I had my LAL tyle show a picture of me pool hopping whilst drinking from my three year old resort mug.

Or maybe put it off in the woods so you can see it on the monorail from TTC to EPCOT. :drevil:

Its not even the fact that the monoliths themselves are dull, the tiles themselves are so tiny and you can barely make out who the person is anyway. I read on another message board from people who lost their number for their tile and couldn't find themselves. It doesn't seem like anything special to me...

Also some of the tiles are very old and faded now and I've heard they won't be replaced because its too expensive

I actually IMHO, I think the people who don't want it there are the people who never got one. If they did, their opinion of it would be different. If you look at it from straight on (DEAD center as some of you might say  ) when you enter the park, it is intended to look like rock formations that are supporting SSE. That is the reason some of them are painted onto the legs of SSE. Although, that part of it does not look good at all. When you purchased one of the tiles, you got (2) clear sheets tucked inside a protective sleeve. The sheets are an exact replica of your tile along with the location number.

By the way. My avatar is my LAL tile & my son has a WAtW brick in front of the TTC over towards Poly a bit.

My wife and I have one from our honeymoon in 2004 and we've gone back about four times since then and always forget the locator and where we are. Personally if they made the Mickey Bricks available still I'd love to do that but the LAL plaques just don't have the same feel....

Just to let you know, Cast Members in the Camera Center under Spaceship Earth can look up the location of your tile. This can be done just based on the name and address that you used when you created your tile. The barcode number is unnecessary (though it can be helpful if you still have it). You'll then be given specific instructions on how to locate your tile.

For years they haven't done the bricks, though there was a rumor recently that they are starting it up again.

Are the bricks for sale now, or was that untrue?

Bricks were on sale for a few days in March. It was a one-time promotion to help fill in some of the blank spots on the Walk Around the World. It's my understanding that it won't be happening again. But you never can tell with Disney. :animwink:

I have to say I will be very disappointed if they take the LAL down. I hope they just move it somewhere else at least. We just got ours done last December and are looking forward to seeing our tiles when we go back this Christmas. I was excited about looking back at our pix years from now... sigh... I thought I read in our paperwork that we signed that our tiles would be available for at least 5 years, but that they would not guarantee "where" they would be. So, I hope that means we can find ourselves somewhere in Epcot in the future. Please note, I am not saying that I necessarily like the "graveyard" but I do like the concept, which is why we bought our tiles, so please don't bash me. :)

This is exactly what I mean, if people THEMSELVES can't find their own tiles, then what is the use really?

Im just saying they could have done so much better and it's quite obvious they never sold half as many as they expected to by now.

The LAL plinths are imposing and I look forward to their removal. The pics are neat and I hope Disney just makes a wall in the Epcot entrace area (on the sides) with the pics, and starts selling them again.

And I really hope they decide to complete the Walk Around the World. Not because I want another brick (already have one at the TTC), but because I actually think it would be neat after a night at the MK to walk on a lit path around through the GF, past the wedding paviolion, and through the grounds of the Poly on the way to my car.

Does anyone know exactly why they stopped the LAL? I wanted to get it done a few days ago and was actually really surprised that they weren't doing it anymore :S
